5 out of 5 starsThis is such a beautiful, artistic calendar from Wool Maiden showing stunning images ~ very cute ~ of all the pretty and happy looking fibre sheep raised in B.C. by a fibre artist. Images are adorable and the backgrounds are so artistically done using very strong and think paper stock. Enough room to write in the squares - just write small. Little Oliver and Snowflake are so adorable! Thank you Jules!!

Heading to the shop!
From sheep to shop...
Inspired by all things woolly, I love to handcraft roving and yarn. Whether it is spinning or dyeing or knitting, I am happiest elbow deep in wool.
While I learned to knit at 5 years old, it was merely a past time I did in the presence of my crafty Gran. It wasn't until I was pregnant with my first child in 2005 here at Gladsheim Farm that I picked up the needles again to make a little newborn sweater. It was love at first clickety-clack.
Fast forward a few years and a mountain of hand knits, my husband gifted me an Ashford Traditional spinning wheel. I was smitten.
It was a logical evolution (my sales pitch to the family) to acquire a few sheep in 2013 to support my wool addiction. And now, several lambs later, our flock has grown to 12 grown sheep and 11 lambs who will arrive here any day now.
Wool Maiden was born in 2016 at Gladsheim Farm in the Slocan Valley. We raise all sorts of critters here, but it is my flock of fibre sheep that has my heart. Because I am a homeschooling mama first and am balancing out the other tasks of farm chores, I try to dedicate a little time each day to Wool Maiden, whether it is dyeing yarn, winding skeins, or spinning roving.
Here in the Wool Maiden shop you will find both homegrown fibre and luxury yarn I've purchased and handpainted. Sometimes, I also offer homespun wool ~ even from our own farm fresh fibre, and hand dyed naturally with plants and mushrooms.
I hope you enjoy your visit here at Wool Maiden...and perhaps leave with a little handcrafted yarn, made with love.
