Inspired by the North

Ýdalir – the “Yew Dales” – is the remote, Northern home of the Norse god Ullr, a master archer and renowned skier. Ullr and his realm have always been associated with integrity, skill, honour, and independence.

As a craftsman, my woodworking begins in the pristine forests where nature plays out scenes of survival and teaches lessons of ingenuity. I look to Ýdalir for inspiration, guidance, and mastery.

My designs are influenced by Scandinavian, Slavic, and Celtic traditions, artwork, and culture.

I am a custom woodworker based in Toronto. I build each and every piece by hand. Exploring the rich mythologies, sagas, and traditions of my Danish, Slovakian, and Irish ancestors continues to influence my designs.

The Norse and Celtic legends have continuously fed my deep need for magic and mysticism in my daily life. I hope my writing helps reach out and connect others out there who are looking for the same spark of magic.

Beading is my passion, and it's a beautiful outlet for creativity, whether simple strands or layered sculptural pieces. I love them all! I have a Slavic and Celtic ancestry, and beads continue to be an important art form through both cultures.
