About Zunga Craft
If you grew up around Powell Lake, you know what a Zunga is.
It’s a rope swing — usually tied high in a tree along the shoreline — the kind you only find if you know where to look. The best ones require a boat. They’re part of growing up here.
A few years ago, my family and I found the tallest Zunga I’ve ever seen. The rope was thick. The platform felt way too high. Naturally, I climbed it.
For one perfect second, the swing was glorious.
And then I let go at exactly the wrong time.
I came down flat on my back. The slap echoed across the lake. On the video, you can hear people saying “uh-oh…” and my son (about six at the time) yelling, “Do you love it?!”
It hurt. It was hilarious. And it’s exactly the kind of moment that sticks with you.
Zunga Craft is built in that same spirit — climb anyway, jump anyway, and laugh when it doesn’t go perfectly.
I design and build each piece with quality materials, thoughtful details, and just enough boldness to make it worth the leap.
Thanks for being here.
