Welcome to Autumn Fern Studio.

My name is Cass (she/her) and I'm a self-taught sewer as of July 2020. I’ve enjoyed the trial-and-error approach to learning a new skill and it's been amazing creating accessories from store-bought fabrics and upcycling textiles from thrift stores.

I was inspired to take up sewing by my dear friend Britt Frost - she has a beautiful Etsy shop called Emerald and Ginger - and it quickly became a passion of mine!

With Autumn Fern Studio, you can expect colourful and functional goodies all made on my Janome sewing machine in my little Parkdale apartment. I'm particularly passionate about thrift shopping for one of a kind fabric and upcycling textiles into something new.

Each and every month I'll be donating 5% of my monthly Etsy sales to a different Canadian charity. Now more than ever, we need to step up and make a difference in our community!

Care instructions

I recommend handwashing in warm water and hanging to dry. If ironing, I suggest a low temperature, no steam.

I lovingly wash all fabric before sewing but there is a chance the colours may bleed a little. Soak products are *amazing* for handwashing: https://can.soakwash.com.

Do you offer local pickup in Toronto?

Yes! If you are available to pickup your item in person in Parkdale (in a socially-distanced manner), use the coupon code LOCALTORONTO. Please note that pickup hours are generally available:
- Monday-Friday evenings
- Weekends

Do you take requests for custom tote bags and pouches?

It's possible, depending on the request! If you're interested in a posted item but want a different size, I might have extra fabric - send me a message and I'll see what we can make work. I'm also open to special ordering fabrics to make you the goodie of your dreams.
