I truly believe this. For me, when it comes to jewelry – more is more! I love big, colourful pieces with a little history to them. I comb through yard sales, flea markets, and antique shops, searching for oddments; broken jewelry, vintage brooches, earrings, beads, and buttons. I combine them with some new components to create unique, one of a kind necklaces. With a respect for the past and a regard for the present, I create jewelry that has a story to tell!

About

Welcome! My name is Catherine, and I live in the beautiful province of Nova Scotia with my husband of 31 years, John, and three adorable cats. I also have a 25 year old daughter who is my best friend and the light of my life. I've been creating for over 20 years now, and have been through several stages in my artistic career.

I came to jewelry about eight years ago, when most of the jewelry I saw, was not really my style. Pieces I liked, I either couldn't afford, or wouldn't want to wear. So, I started creating what to my eyes, were pieces that were quirky, fun, and didn't necessarily use traditional components in their design.

I am completely self taught, and have certainly grown in my skills. I've learned through trial and error what works and what doesn't. I think I have a good eye for colour, and composition, and a sense of humour that doesn't take jewelry so seriously. There are no precious stones or metals in my work, but there is a lot of passion, wit and love.

I try to create each piece as if it is my one and only. I put all my focus on making each one as good as it can be. I also try to keep prices reasonable so it is accessible to everyone. Perhaps, like me, your money is hard come by, so I try to be as cost-effective as I can.

My work space is a very messy spare bedroom, yet I know where everything is, and I do manage to be quite productive. I am passionate about beauty in everything I do, and I simply love colour. I also embroider, create button pictures, crazy headpieces, sew, and paint.

I am always available to you for any questions or comment you may have. I hope you enjoy my selection.
Thank you for shopping my Etsy store! Please come again!

Shipping
The postal service in Canada is tricky. So, the price I list below are all estimates without insurance and tracking in a 6x9 bubble envelope. If you are interested in any piece and need a more exact shipping cost let me know the piece that you're interested in, you postal code and country, and whether you require insurance or tracking. I will try to get back to you within 24 hours. Once I receive payment I will ship within three days.
Also, if you live close to where I am, or the Halifax/Dartmouth area, it's possible that we could make arrangements for pickup, or meet somewhere in the middle and avoid shipping altogether. I've tried to keep my prices as low as possible so that even with higher shipping costs included each piece is still a reasonable price.
I want to do anything I can to make your experience with me a good one. If you have any questions, please let me know!
Shipping costs: again a reminder that these are approximate prices, see above. Contact me with your postal code for a more accurate price.
