Absolutely stunning! Crystal was awesome to work with- she was very responsive to messages and made me a beautiful custom pin. It will go perfectly with all of my shawls! It's both modern and classic, and just perfect. Thank you, thank you, thank you! 💕

I love these! The girls I work with and I will use these to hold our name tags on collars/neck shawls we make. Thank you so much!

About

A Star Pirate Story

Star and Crossbones started, way back when, with a rebellion. To one who habitually put responsibility first, who always put dreams second, starting a business purely from a desire to share creative vision with the world was an act of defiance. Its name was chosen with that in mind, and inspired by the wildest and most fantastic shapes of freedom. "Bring me the horizon," said a pirate of a certain fame, and I wanted to one-up that idea. Bring me the galactic horizon!

And so Star and Crossbones was born.

It's meant to be a vessel for whatever inspires me, for my independence, for my exploration and my tangible creative interactions with the wide, wide world. Sometimes I play with things that sparkle, and other times with things that bring warm fuzzies. My labyrinthine, gills-packed craft room tells a tale of many interests and many more sleepless nights ... but in every medium, I try to remember to bring heart, soul, and humanity along for the creative voyage.

I'm inspired by rhythms of nature, by space opera and seafarers, by dangerous beauty; by the old ways of doing things and the cutting edge, by story and song, by wind and wave, by sun-bathed leaf and rain-wet rock. To me there is meaning in the quiet shadows of glittering starlit nights, and in all things that flow and change and grow, minute or massive, bright or dark. I am enchanted by unabashed style and swashbucklingly singular self-expression, and so I hope you can see at least a tiny piece of my story in everything I offer here. Whether it's handspun yarn or jewelry or quirky costume pieces, each and every object I create reflects some part of my personal journey — my dream-fueled, white-water, endlessly horizon-expanding adventure of discovery.

To all those who choose to sail with me on the adventure, I extend a sincere welcome aboard and my truest heartfelt thanks.

Now ... That horizon is calling. ;)

Returns and exchanges
All repair, return and exchange packages must be shipped back to us with tracking numbers — 'cause everyone's safer that way, me hearties. ;)

Repairs

If a piece of jewelry or shawl pin breaks in normal use, ship it back to us at your cost, and we'll fix it for free and send it back to you at our cost — pirates' honor! Do send us a message before shipping the item back to us, letting us know what happened to the item and what we need to fix. When shipping items back to us for repair, please package them securely, with padding, and with a tracking number.

Exchanges

If you'd like to exchange an item for an item of equal value, send us a message to let us know when you purchased the original item(s), what you're returning, and what you'd like to exchange the item(s) for. Package up the item(s) securely and with padding, if necessary, and don't forget to include a tracking number.

Returns

If you'd like to return something, send us a message to let us know what you're returning, when you bought it, and why you're sending it back. Then package it up securely (in the original packaging or something else that protects it from damage) and ship it back to us with a tracking number. As long as the item returns here in the
same condition we sent it in, we'll issue a full refund of the item price plus the original cost of shipping (but not the cost of shipping it back to us).
Payment
We take all kinds of treasures, including Paypal, money orders, and personal checks. (If you pay by personal check, your item will be held for shipping until the check clears — a scalawag’s got to watch his coffers, after all.)
Shipping
Ready to ship items will be in the mail within a week of your order placement, but please allow additional time for your item to be delivered. Buyers outside the U.S. should receive items within 2-3 weeks, unless of course customs is being particularly slow. ;) If your item is made-to-order or custom made, please see the item listing for your estimated shipping time.

In a rush? If you need something to arrive by a specific date, or if you'd prefer we ship using another carrier or method, please send us a message and we will do our absolute best to meet your needs!
Additional policies and FAQs
We love custom orders! Convo us with ideas, questions, inspiration, for price quotes, etc. Custom orders require a 50% down payment to help us buy materials, with the rest payable when purchasing from the item's listing.
