I was looking for a large horizontal painting to fill a blank wall in my recently remodeled family room, and stumbled upon Lola Donoghue. Very happy with how beautiful this painting is and how well it fits with my room.

Updates

This was my favourite painting from the Heirloom collection, I was tempted to keep it! I guess I'll just have to make do with a printblush' Heirloom #2' now available.

About

I create original Acrylic and Oil Paintings and Fine Art Prints.

I began my creative journey at the Limerick School of Art & Design. I graduated at the top of my class with a first class honours degree (much to my very pleasant surprise!).

I began teaching shortly after this and I became a partner in a photography business about five years ago. With the crazy schedule of two full-time jobs, I had lost touch with my own art and have only begun painting again in the last couple of years (thanks to a good kick up the behind from my boyfriend!).

I had always been an avid buyer on etsy and love the whole philosophy behind it; a community where one could buy and sell handmade and vintage and all with a very personal touch. With so many unique and interesting shops it was natural that I’d want to place myself next to lots of talented, like-minded people. I knew that when I started to sell my art, that this would be where it would happen.

I work from an upstairs room in my new house in Co. Galway in the West of Ireland. I am blessed with floor to ceiling windows in my studio so that the presence of the landscape soothes me with its traditional stone walls, rolling pastures and gently grazing sheep and cows. If it sounds idyllic that's probably because it is. That's something I need to constantly remind myself of lest I take it for granted.
