About

Putting the pieces all together

On May 2009 I officially opened the doors to my shop. There was months of testing and preparation that went into the creation of Mary's Posh Doggie Diners. Great pride and workmanship is put into every creation I make. Handmade from the top to the bottom. Every diner is unique and a piece of art. I've created many custom diners for dogs and cats over the last few years from California to the U.K.

My love for dogs, my love for creating works of art and my need to be home based brought me to contemplate a few years ago on how I could combine all these desires. Since creativity runs on my mother's side of the family (my grandmother played the violin for silent films and my mother was a professional violinist, vocalist and artist), I knew at this stage of my life I needed to really concentrate on creating art. Utilizing mosaics into my original designs and creations was amazing... I realized in 2008 this was what I really wanted to do. Thus, I begin testing different designs and materials on my dogs. After a year of testing, I copyrighted my designs and the rest is history. I even dream of new designs and sometimes get up and start one in the middle of the night.

I have always wanted to be able to give a little to those rescue organizations that truly make a different in the life of an animal. So to that end, thanks to my customers I have been able to give cash and auction donations totaling over $1205.00.

My family is my first love but my art is my passion! I am grateful to my husband who helps me occasionally with cutting out larger wood diner designs. My work allows me to be creative and fulfill my dream of owning my own business. It also gives me the opportunity to work from my home studio and be here for my two beautiful children who are on the autism spectrum.

My life has been very similar to the mosaics I create. I'm still putting all the pieces together and enjoying every minute of it! Be sure to view my youtube video titled "Best Friends". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpnllBkXr_Y

Every one of the custom diners is handmade and can be customized to match your home decor. My company's mascot, Katie (who sadly passed away in 2014), spent a year testing out and putting all of our diners through canine testing before my products were brought to market and copyrighted.

I also create beautiful mosaics to add beauty to your home or special event.

An elevated dog diner is beneficial by allowing dogs to maintain a healthier posture while eating and drinking, stress on neck, back and legs is reduced. By elevating food and water bowls, digestion is improved and the risk of choking is minimized.

Why hide your dog's diner when guests come to visit? There is no need with a posh diner. Each is a piece of art to be displayed and enjoyed.

I suggest wiping the surface of your diner weekly to maintain a clean surface (daily if your dog is a messy eater). A soft cloth such as a Total-Reach microfiber dust and polish cloth is a must for every Posh Diner. Remove bowls weekly to clean the surface throughly.

I take great pride in my workmanship and quality of my products. Custom styles and colors available.

Custom requests are welcome!

Donations

Throughout the year I select organizations in which to donate a posh doggie diner for a silent auction to help raise money for the organization. I have volunteered at or have given to several dog rescue organizations in CA, as well as an organization that provides horse therapy riding for children with autism or other mental or physical challenges called Carousel Ranch. Now that I have moved, if your organization is based in AZ, you may submit a request for a donation (at this time I need to concentrate my donations to more locally based organizations). Thank you to all those organizations out of state that have made inquiries and requests in the past.

Frequently asked questions

Why use an elevated diner?

An elevated dog diner is beneficial by allowing dogs to maintain a healthier posture while eating and drinking, stress on neck, back and legs is reduced. By elevating food and water bowls, digestion is improved and the risk of choking is minimized.

Why hide your dog's diner when guests come to visit? There is no need with a posh diner. Each is a piece of art to be displayed and enjoyed.

Care instructions for Diners and Coasters

I suggest wiping the surface of your diner weekly to maintain a clean surface. A soft cloth such as a Total-Reach microfiber dust and polish cloth (Unger Industries/InCom 962930) is a must for every Posh Diner. Remove bowls weekly to clean the surface throughly. If your dog or cat is a messy eater or drinker, I suggest that every time you feed or change the water to take a Viva paper towel or the microfiber cloth and dab the surface clean.

Coasters: To clean, just dab any moisture up with a paper towel. Do not wipe as the paper towel will snag on the grout. Do not submerge in water! And remember, coasters are not meant as a play toy for young children.

Production Time

Production time will vary for each of my products. During my high busy season which is usually between November and April, I sometimes require a few additional days to complete.

Diners: The ex-large to large diners take 4 to 6 weeks to complete. Medium size diners between 3 to 5 weeks and small diners from 3 to 4 weeks.

Numbers: Mosaic numbers range between 2 to 4 weeks depending on the quantity and height of the numbers ordered.

Coasters: The range is between 4 business days to 2 weeks depending on the quantity ordered and complexity of the design.

I appreciate your patience as every piece in my shop is hand cut, designed and completed by me. Mosaic is a time consuming art but the end result will be well worth the wait.

Reduced Local Shipping Fees for Arizona

I offer a reduced local shipping fee for Surprise, Peoria, Phoenix, Mesa, Chandler and Glendale Arizona. Delivers are only available on Saturdays and the customer will need to give a two hour delivery window. The local delivery fee is $5.00. The diner will be hand delivered and will not be in a box. I will confirm delivery date and time with each local customer. After purchase, I will refund the shipping difference except for $5.00

Understanding Diner Bowl Dimension

Most of the bowls I use in the diners have a rim so that they set properly into each diner. When there are bowl measurements given for a bowl, that is the inside bowl width and does not include the rim of the bowl. That will give you a more accurate measurement to compare to your current bowl. The inside bowl eating space is the most important element to order correctly. If you need help ordering the correct bowl for your diner order, just contact me and I am happy to help in the process.
