5 out of 5 starsThis butterfly was a gift for my mom. She loves it! It is so beautiful and delicate. Since it is hand painted, each wing has its own unique coloring. It shipped quickly and was safely packaged. Thank you for a great item!

5 out of 5 starsVery fast & easy communication & delivery. Just exactly as in the picture, although the metal actually shines silver, which adds to the beauty. I'm glad to have this pretty piece in my home. It's well-made, solid & very cute.

How Monarch Glass and More came to be...
I have been working with stained glass since 1995, having learned the craft from my late father (he took it up in the late 70s). I worked in my parents' glass shop from 1996 to 2000, and started my own home-based business in January of 2001.
Back in the summer of 1985 when my uncle was dying, a friend of his wrote him a poem about butterflies and how he would soon have 'freedom to fly like a butterfly'. A year later, another uncle died suddenly. For my grandmother and the rest of the family, monarch butterflies were reminders of Jack and Ken. In the mid 90s, after I had started working with stained glass, my aunt asked if I could make a little butterfly suncatcher that looked like a monarch, and so began my little business...

Shop policies
All of my stained glass is made by me using the copper foil method. I have been working with stained glass since 1995, having learned the craft from my late father. I worked in a glass shop from 1996 to 2000, and started my own home-based business in January of 2001.
My favourite pieces to make are the hand-painted monarch butterflies, which I have been selling since 1997.
Custom orders are welcome. Most of my items on Etsy are small suncatcher-type pieces that are easy to ship, but I do windows, lamps, stepping stones, etc. too.
