Announcement    Thank you for supporting indie handmade 😍 Other than slightly higher stress and worry levels, my usual processes have not been significantly disrupted by the current situation, so all orders will be filled as normal. 👍 I have limited my supply/shipping runs to once per week, so I will likely need the whole suggested production time listed on each order! 😄 Also keep in mind, all postal services may be be experiencing some delays. 💕

📬 Updates:
--As of April 24, I am still obtaining supplies and shipping parcels weekly, with no problem! In most cases, I am receiving feedback that shipping times on my parcels are not unreasonably delayed. 😄💪🎈 However, Chit Chats, my shipping company, has stated: "Currently, all carriers are experiencing severe processing, tracking and delivery delays due to COVID-19 and an increased volume of shipments during this time." In addition to restricted international shipments, Canada Post and USPS are experiencing delays of 1-5 days, and tracking updates or delivery confirmations may also be delayed. Many carriers have removed their delivery service guarantees. See their full report here: https://chitchats.com/blog/delivery-processing-delays-due-to-covid-19
--As of April 6, despite further closures of businesses over the weekend by the Ontario government, both my supplier and my shipper are still fully operational, and therefore, so am I! 😄😄😄
--As of March 31: Mail and Parcels destined to all regions of Canada and the U.S.A. continue to be delivered, but delivery times can be expected to be delayed, according to my shipper. About two-thirds of international destinations have been suspended by Canada Post, so please check that you are on the "Service Available" list before ordering, and for destinations where service is still available, expect significant and unpredictable delays. https://www.canadapost.ca/cpc/en/our-company/news-and-media/service-alerts.page
--As of March 25: A state of emergency was declared in Mississauga, closing all non-essential businesses, but the GOOD NEWS is that my local supplier of yarn/wool is still open (because it's manufacturing, I suppose!) and so are my shipping company and the postal service. So I am still in operation for the forseeable future! Yay! 😄😄😄
--As of March 22, shipments to the US are still open, though delays may occur, More countries have been added to the international no-delivery list, including many European, Middle Eastern, and South American countries, see full list here: https://www.canadapost.ca/cpc/en/our-company/news-and-media/service-alerts.page?refid=800963896471
--As of March 20, Canada Post has advised of service interruptions to certain countries at https://www.canadapost.ca/cpc/en/our-company/news-and-media/service-alerts.page?refid=800963896471
--As of March 17, I am fully able to restock undyed supplies and ship packages without delay or price increases, though I am unsure of postal delivery times either domestically or internationally. If your area has been more heavily affected, delivery times may be a bit longer.

Feel free to check in with me if you have any concerns about ordering 😄 Also, if you just want to look at colourful or floofy things to de-stress without buying anything because who knows what the financial situation might be going forward, that's okay too! I will be fine...I'm very lucky since I can still work while staying at home. You can support us indie dyers in other ways, too, with likes, favourites, reposts, mentions and reviews! 🥰 Come over to Instagram to see what I'm dyeing, knitting, and stress-baking 🤣🤣🤣

Welcome to my little shop!

All yarn and fibre is hand-dyed by me in my little basement studio. I am mindful of the impact that our crafting supplies have on the environment, so I have chosen to use fibre that is not superwash treated, when I can, not only to prevent those chemicals from being released into the environment, but also to lessen the fibre's carbon footprint. My main fibre and yarn lines are unfortunately not local to me, as they are from Australia and the UK, but by choosing not to have it superwash treated, I've saved it a detour half way 'round the world just for that process. I occasionally also like to obtain smaller batches of local and UK rare breed fibre, to support small sheep growers' operations. My favourites to spin? Definitely Wensleydale, Polwarth, and any wool with a bit of mohair blended in...I promise I'll share it with you whenever I get my hands on some.

>>>>

I take care to use the absolute minimum of new materials in my dyeing process and packaging. I reuse, thrift, and repurpose as much as I can; I've even modified my dying procedures to make sure that I use absolutely no disposable materials (except for the occasional cotton swab to test colours--if you have any ideas for alternatives to doing this, I'm all ears!)

Every package I send out contains a nifty little surprise pack of fun items to thank you for buying handmade and supporting my small business endeavours. Just some little things that I love, like snacks, stickers, supplies, mini diy's, thrifted items, repurposed stationery...it's always changing because I'm always coming across fun little things or thinking up crafty ideas of things to share. I'm not going to tell you what it is when you order...the surprise is part of the fun!

I do everything I can, short of standing on my head, to take photos that are colour accurate (greens and purples ain't easy, I'm telling you!), but please remember there's no accounting for some monitors, and I might occasionally miss the mark a bit.

I try to keep my wool clean and smelling like, well, wool and vinegar. I wash it with a tiny amount of dishwashing detergent, and store it in airtight containers with a block of lavender-scented cedar. My studio is pet-free, though it is in a workshop full of other crafty projects, so you might occasionally get a bit of thread from my mom's sewing. Or a bead. Or half an abandoned paper maché sculpture. At least I can say for certain that it's a heck of a lot cleaner than when it was on the sheep.

If you have any questions at all about my materials, processes, or anything else, go right ahead and convo me anytime!
