Welcome to my little shop!

All yarn and fibre is hand-dyed by me in my little basement studio. I am mindful of the impact that our crafting supplies have on the environment, so I try to offer as many untreated or otherwise eco-friendly yarn and fibre bases as I can.

I take care to use the absolute minimum of new materials in my dyeing process and packaging. I reuse, thrift, and repurpose as much as I can (a fun, creative outlet for me, too!...have you seen my packaging?) I've even modified my dying procedures to make sure that I avoid the use of disposable materials (except for the occasional cotton swab to test colours--if you have any ideas for alternatives to doing this, I'm all ears!) I also reuse my dye water as many times as possible, and make sure to exhaust all dyes.

The "thrifty" in my tagline isn't just about environmental sustainability. I also try to offer lots of multi packs of mini bits of fibre & yarn to make my price points more accessible. Crafting is for everyone.

My main fibre and yarn lines are unfortunately not local to me, as they are from New Zealand and the UK, but it is milled in Canada! I occasionally also like to obtain smaller batches of local and UK rare breed fibres, to support small sheep growers' operations. My favourites to spin? Definitely Wensleydale, Polwarth, and any wool with a bit of mohair blended in...I promise I'll share it with you whenever I get my hands on some.

Every package I send out contains a nifty little surprise pack of fun items to thank you for buying handmade and supporting my small business endeavours. Just some little things that I love, like cute stickers, stationery, little tools, supplies, mini diy's, thrifted trinkets, repurposed stationery, handmade stitch markers, or upcycled items...it's always changing because I'm always coming across fun little things or thinking up crafty ideas of things to share. I'm not going to tell you what it is when you order...the surprise is part of the fun!

I do everything I can, short of standing on my head, to take photos that are colour accurate (greens and purples ain't easy, I'm telling you!), but please remember there's no accounting for some monitors, and I might occasionally miss the mark a bit.

I try to keep my wool clean and smelling like, well, wool (that BFL smell is the sheepy-best!) I wash it with a tiny amount of dishwashing detergent, and store it in airtight containers. My studio is pet-free, though it is in a workshop full of other crafty projects, so you might occasionally get a bit of thread from a sewing project. Or a bead. Or half an abandoned paper maché sculpture. At least I can say for certain that it's a heck of a lot cleaner than when it was on the sheep.

If you have any questions at all about my materials, processes, or anything else, go right ahead and convo me anytime!

Returns and exchange details
Other than giving you information about my processes, I don't mean to have a lot of small print. It's just yarn, for heaven's sake. I want you to be 100% thrilled with your purchase, and if you're not, please let me know. I appreciate the feedback if there's anything I can do to improve my service.

Delivery
I use Canada Post, as well as the United States Postal Service, and Asendia through Chit Chat's Express to ship my orders.

According to the Chit Chat's website, "The pandemic has caused unprecedented delays with shipping and our partner carriers are experiencing significant delays in transit times. Due to limited transportation availability and increased safety measures most carriers have removed any service guarantees. Delivery times are always estimated and never guaranteed."

Estimated Shipping Times + COVID-19 Delays
Canada: 2-14 business days (was 2-8 days)
USA: 3-14 business days (was 2-4 days)
International: 7-75(!) business days (was 4-20 days)
Estimated delivery times may be longer for remote addresses.

All small (under 2cm) packages to Canada are sent lettermail, to keep shipping costs low, but they are untracked.

All larger Canadian parcels, and all US packages are tracked. International packages no longer have an untracked option, due to Covid-19 upheavals, so I've had to increase international shipping prices. Sorry to my worldwide peeps!

I will be happy to arrange for expedited shipping on your order! Just convo me and I would be happy to create an extra listing for you.

For destinations outside the US and Canada, please be aware that your country's customs agency may delay your package, or require you to pay extra charges for taxes or duties.
