Hola, soy Amanda, técnica de farmacia, educadora y amante del café, la creadora de Pharm Tech Mentor. ☕💊
Mi trayectoria en el mundo de la farmacia comenzó hace más de 20 años, cuando solicité un trabajo en Walmart y, curiosamente, ni siquiera me di cuenta de que la entrevista era para la farmacia. Lo que empezó como una simple necesidad de un trabajo estable se convirtió en una carrera que realmente me apasiona.
A lo largo de los años, he trabajado en diferentes áreas de la farmacia, he obtenido mi certificación nacional, he impartido clases a futuros técnicos de farmacia y he ayudado a estudiantes a prepararse para ingresar a la profesión. Cuando presenté el PTCE, obtuve la puntuación máxima de 1600, pero algunos de mis momentos de mayor orgullo han sido ayudar a alguien que se sentía abrumado a finalmente decir: "Ahora lo entiendo".
Ese sentimiento es precisamente la razón por la que creé Pharm Tech Mentor.
La farmacia puede parecer un idioma completamente nuevo. Códigos SIG, cálculos, medicamentos, leyes, seguros, abreviaturas… ¡Hay muchísima información de golpe! Creo recursos prácticos y fáciles de entender que dividen estos temas complejos en partes manejables.
Ya sea que estés estudiando para el PTCE, comenzando tu primer trabajo como técnico de farmacia, repasando tus habilidades o enseñando a la próxima generación de técnicos, mi objetivo es brindarte recursos que sean útiles en el mundo real, no solo otro montón de información para memorizar.
Todo en este taller está creado desde la perspectiva de alguien que ha sido tanto el técnico que aprendía el oficio como el educador que lo enseñaba.

Hi, I’m Amanda — the pharmacy technician, educator, and coffee lover behind Pharm Tech Mentor. ☕💊
My pharmacy journey started more than 20 years ago when I applied for a job at Walmart and, funny enough, didn’t even realize my interview was for the pharmacy. What began as simply needing a steady job turned into a career I genuinely love.
Over the years, I’ve worked in different areas of pharmacy, earned my national certification, taught future pharmacy technicians, and helped students prepare to enter the profession. When I took the PTCE, I earned the top scaled score of 1600 — but some of my proudest moments have come from helping someone who felt overwhelmed finally say, “I get it now.”
That feeling is exactly why I created Pharm Tech Mentor.
Pharmacy can feel like learning an entirely new language. SIG codes, calculations, medications, laws, insurance, abbreviations — there’s a lot coming at you at once. I create practical, easy-to-understand resources that break those complicated topics into manageable pieces.
Whether you’re studying for the PTCE, beginning your first pharmacy technician job, brushing up on skills, or teaching the next generation of technicians, my goal is to give you resources that are useful in the real world — not just another stack of information to memorize.
