From illustrator, costume designer and visual merchandiser to Plushinator

I graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in Illustration, moved to Chicago and tried the freelance illustration jobs. I wasn't passionate about it anymore. I took a job as a costume designer (set costumer) on a few films but I'm terrible at mornings and was soon sure that was not for me either. Took a job at the Virgin Megastore and soon was working as a visual consultant... traveling around, hanging in windows, trying to not fall off ladders. But, in my down time I wanted to create.

I had a "brilliant" idea in late 2007 to mix my sewing skills with my illustrative brain power and made my first soft sculpture! Bingo... I started working from home making one of a kind soft sculptures, small run plush and pieces for other artists. Fast forward 5 years and plushinating is my life; that and making up silly songs to amuse my tiny kitty and assistant (but i think she mostly sticks around for the dances, coffee and occasional ice cream sandwich).

I am excited to say I do what I love and would not want to have it any other way. Thanks to all the people who are excited by what I am doing, I couldnt do it without ya!
