Sono un artista autodidatta che, nel 1984, da genitore single con due bambini piccoli, è caduto nella progettazione di gioielli come un modo per integrare il mio reddito. Un giorno ho portato una scatola di scarpe piena dei miei disegni originali di orecchini in alcune boutique di Redondo Beach, in California, e sorpresa, li ho venduti tutti. È nata la mia attività originale, Despina. Il 1984-1986 è stata l'era delle grandi spalle, dei grandi capelli e dei grandi gioielli di dichiarazione. Despina prosperò e crebbe!
Nei 33 anni in cui ho prodotto gioielli ho disegnato gioielli per celebrità e ho fatto apparire i miei disegni in video musicali e serie televisive. Ho avuto la fortuna di essere selezionato per apparire come artista di gioielli in primo piano sulla televisione nazionale sulla rete di home shopping-QVC e ho partecipato a numerosi luoghi giurati.
Con il cambiare dei tempi, anche i miei progetti e la mia strategia sono cambiati. L'aggiunta di dipendenti, rappresentanti di vendita, l'espansione della mia base di clienti e la produzione su larga scala per cataloghi multicanale e catene di grandi magazzini ha ora chiuso il cerchio all'inizio.
Nel 2010 ho ridisegnato la mia linea, le mie prospettive e le mie aspettative per il futuro. Nasce RiverPath Studio & ArtWorks. I miei orecchini misti in metallo, collane e spille possono essere descritti come "interpretazioni eclettiche della vita contemporanea di tutti i giorni". Tutto ciò che creo è progettato con un tema in mente e sempre con un tocco stravagante.
Ho la fortuna di aver lavorato in un lavoro e in un settore che amo negli ultimi 33 anni e guardo avanti con grande entusiasmo a ciò che il futuro ha in serbo per me. Cin cin!
I am a self-taught artist that, in 1984, as a single parent with two small children, fell into designing jewelry as a way to supplement my income. One day I took a shoe box filled with my original earring designs into a few boutiques in Redondo Beach, California, and surprise, I sold them all. My original business, Despina, was born. 1984-1986 was the era of big shoulders, big hair and big statement jewelry. Despina thrived and grew!
In the 33 years I have been producing jewelry I have designed jewelry for celebrities and had my designs appear in music videos and television series. I was fortunate enough to be selected to appear as a featured jewelry artist on national television on the home shopping network-QVC and have participated in numerous juried venues.
As the times changed, so did my designs and strategy. Adding employees, sales representatives, expanding my customer base and producing on a large scale for multi-channel catalog and department store chains has now come full circle back to the beginning.
In 2010 I redesigned my line, my outlook and my expectations for the future. RiverPath Studio & ArtWorks was born. My mixed metal earrings, necklaces and pins can be described as “eclectic interpretations of everyday contemporary life”. Everything I create is designed with a theme in mind and always with a whimsical twist.
I am fortunate enough to have worked in a job and industry I love for the past 33 years and look forward with great excitement to what the future has in store for me. Cheers!
