Announcement   Coming up this weekend, May 5 & 6, I will be part of the spring pottery tour organized by The Clay Collective (.org), in Cambridge, Lake Mills & Johnson Creek, Wisconsin. I'm be showing my work at Mark Skudlarek's studio location.
June 2 & 3 — 57th Street Art Fair, my only fair in Chicago this summer.
July 28 & 29 — Geneva Arts Fair, Geneva, IL
August 3 - 5 — Uptown Art Fair, Minneapolis, MN.

Many thanks to everyone for stopping by & checking out my work! I make almost all of the pieces out of grolleg porcelain, both hand built & wheel thrown pieces that I alter & carve -- some are functional pieces, most are sculptural objects. My glazes are a variety of glossy and matte surfaces. Occasionally, I use a beautiful porcelain, called Southern Ice, that I leave unglazed.

About

My inspiration comes from the natural world

I rediscovered clay 26 years ago and have been happily working with it ever since. Starting with earthenware, then stoneware and finally, lovely porcelain—for the last 16 years.

I use a combination of wheel thrown and handbuilt forms that are altered, carved and sprigged. Each piece is handled many times, for many hours, in some cases, over many days. With a variety of airbrushed matte and gloss glazes that enhance the surfaces, the pieces are fired to a high temperature in a gas kiln, cone 10 reduction, around 2340 F or 1282 C.

The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalised orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)

Shipping
I ship USPS Priority mail with delivery confirmation and insurance for domestic orders. International orders are shipped USPS First class mail. I wrap the pieces well and try to use recycled boxes and bubble wrap. If this is a gift and you would like all new packaging or gift wrapping, please let me know with your order.
Additional policies and FAQs
Because each piece is handmade, there may be a tiny iron spot since I work in a studio where others use stoneware clay. I try to photograph any 'spots' or mention them in the item's copy. If you have questions in this regard about a particular item, please convo me.
