Frequently asked questions

How is your product made?

I produce all of the products in my own studio in Istanbul.

Each piece is individually handcrafted. Depending on the product, sometimes I use a pottery wheel, sometimes I use the freehand shaping method.

First, I shape the clay the desired shape on the pottery wheel. I let the clay rest and dry on the shelf for a while until it reaches the appropriate hardness. Then I put it back on the pottery wheel to smooth out the bottom and attach the handle if needed. After the shaping process, I leave it to dry on the shelf for a few days. Once I am sure it has completely dried, I perform the first firing at 1050 degrees. This is called biscuit firing.

The product coming out of the oven is sanded, sponged or washed according to the need. Then I

Is your product food safe?

All glazes that I use in my products are safe for food. All of the handmade ceramics are made using 100% lead free and food safe glazes.

If you are interested in ceramic production, be careful. Not every glaze is food safe!

The components used in the glaze mixture should be carefully selected, and if a ready-made glaze is used, it must be confirmed from the manufacturer.

Custom and personalized orders

You can wash the products in the dishwasher and use them in the microwave. The stoneware clays used in the products and the glazes that mature at 1250 degrees are durable and longevity. Of course, it's beneficial to pay attention to certain issues in long-term use. The acidity of the detergent you use in your washing machine and the hardness of the sponge for hand washing can cause wear and tear on the product surface. Therefore, using natural detergents and medium-hard sponges is beneficial.

The ceramic pieces are very capable of handling hot & cold temperatures, but when a piece is taken from one extreme to another quickly, it can cause it to crack or break. It's best not to use them in the oven or expose them to an open flame.

How about price policy?

My products are handmade and they are very valuable to me. I put a lot of effort into making them and the process takes time. To ensure uniqueness and high quality, I carefully work on these products. That is why my handmade products may be more expensive than mass-produced ones. However, the quality and uniqueness of these products is also higher. Because i consider them valuable, i hope you will find them valuable as well. I will continue to make the best products for you.
