Committed to reclamation, sustainability and giving back to the Canadian-Indigenous community

"Tansi" ᑕᐣᓯ (Hello; How do you do?)
"Maskwa" ᒪᐢᑲᐧ (Bear)
"Nehiyaw" ᓀᐦᐃᔭ (Cree; First Nations)

Derived from my family name (Bear), Tansi Maskwa is a project created for the purpose of reconciling with my heritage and giving back to the Indigenous community of Canada. A portion of monthly profits are donated to different Canadian-Indigenous establishments, currently $681:
April 2021: Daphne Montreal $14
May 2021: The Native Women's Association of Canada $10
June–September 2021 (+ Fundraiser): OrageShirtDay.org $500
October: Cold Lake Native Friendship Centre Society $32
November (+ Fundraiser) indspire.ca (Aboriginal Veterans Scholarship Fund) $100
December Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami $25

The products sold on my shop are made with new material, therefore only fitting to aim as close to 100% recycled packaging when shipping orders. I am driven by sustainability and am constantly adapting as I go.

New material includes the printing ink/paper, postage, eco-friendly paper tape, and acetate sleeves (in the process of transitioning to compostable plastics). In the future, I am hoping to make prints and stickers available in compostable/recycled paper.

Shipping Methods

I ship my products as lettermail with CanadaPost using rigid mailers (from recycled and recyclable material) and in some cases, like prints, plastic sleeves are used to protect against water damage.
