I'm Back!

UPDATE: 2.27.17 After three long years away due to my mother's prolonged illness and the subsequent changing of my studio into a hospital room, I'm back to altering photography with Photoshop and Lightroom.

MY STORY: I became an artist the day I was handed an 8 pack of Crayolas. At 18 months of age a lot gets imprinted on your brain so the crayon's distinctive scent is intimately tied to my creative self. Although I was urged to 'stay in the lines', I was a rebel. No line has ever contained the creativity that continually bubbles up to the surface. ART is what puts the life into my living and makes the living worthwhile. But while I still love creating art I've come to realize that the most authentic way of expression for me is through my photographic art. I love standing alone, my eye pressed to the camera as the sun breaks the horizon on the shore of the windy Atlantic Ocean. Photography is my one and everlasting love.

In 2004 I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer and given an approximate survival time...18 months. It certainly gave me pause but didn't scare me because I knew there were still hundreds of hours of COLOR and a thousand moments of pure joy I needed to capture. ART & Photography is what I am and have always been passionate about! When your purchase of a piece of my altered photographic art you aren't buying a thing...you are buying a piece of my heart, a chunk of my soul and some very private moments of my life.

Making art is a solitary journey but I have never felt alone. Even with all of life's worries, I wouldn't trade one paint smear, one click of the camera shutter, one drop of sweat or one tear of my 67 years. I am an indie artist and proud of it!
