About

Making unique, handmade cards, bags, tags and more!

I have always loved arts and crafts. That was my favorite class in school and, as a kid, my dream job was to be an elementary school art teacher because what kid doesn’t like art class??? I grew up drawing, painting and eventually sewing under the influence of my very talented Mom and Grandma, who made most of my clothes as a child, as well as clothes for my Barbie dolls.

I started scrapbooking when we moved to Switzerland in the late 90s. It was a fun way to document some of our amazing trips and got me into using all different kinds of papers, decorative scissors and stickers. We moved back to the US in 2004 and a friend asked me if I wanted to host a Stampin’ Up! workshop because she knew how much I loved paper stuff and by hosting a workshop, I could receive FREE products… FREE paper, FREE stamps… Yes, please! Well, that was it for me. I was hooked on stamps for life. Stamps opened up a whole new world for me that I didn’t know existed. Plus as an added benefit, I could teach others the joy of stamping and fulfill that childhood dream of teaching art to others! I hear all the time, “I am not a crafty person and could never do what you do with a card!”… this is so untrue! I’ve held classes where people who have never stamped before walked away with cards and tags that they made themselves and a confidence in their ability that they did not have when they came to the class. That makes me feel so good and motivated to do more!

So, you may be wondering “Ok, that’s the stamping side. How did you get into making bags?” I found this great book one time when I was in a fabric shop with my Mom (as I said above, she’s very talented and enjoys quilting…hence the fabric store visit!). Well, this book had fun projects for things around the house, like aprons, hot pads, wall hangings, … and tote bags that had cute little embroidered things on them. I bought some fabric in the clearance bin and made my first tote bag that night. My Mom helped me figure out how to put a lining into it, something that always left me flabbergasted, and voilà, my first tote bag! After that, I started creating bags for my friends for birthday presents and then they started ordering bags for their friends and my skills in sewing a variety of totes, zipper pouches and other bags grew.

We are back in Switzerland and I am a full-time mom of two and work 20% in a local accounting office (if you can believe it, I used to be an auditor!), and in my "free time" I am growing my handmade business making cards & paper products, bags and tags...and maybe a few other things, too!

Making unique, handmade products like those sold in my shop is a joy for me and I look forward to making something special for you! I’m happy to make custom orders so please contact me if you like something you see but want it in a different color or need it personalized for a special occasion! All my products are made with love and care in a smoke-free environment.

Life is short. Be creative!
