1. How do I care for my new jewelry?
I highly recommend that you purchase a polishing cloth to clean and polish your pieces. I sell small polishing cloths here: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=33701526 The cloth removes tarnish from copper, brass, and silver, and brings back that lustrous shine.
Keep your jewelry stored away when you're not using it. If your piece contains leather, cotton, or other textile elements, remember to take it off before washing or showering.
If you own an oxidized or verdigris piece, please know that your finish will eventually fade. ****Oxidation eventually wears off, giving your jewelry item even more character**** To make your oxidation last longer, take your ring off at night and when bathing, washing hands, or working strenuously with your hands. Certain chemicals or environmental conditions can strip the oxidation, and other chemicals can make it darker.
Some people like this, it adds more character to the piece. However, if you'd like to have your jewelry refinished at no charge (except shipping costs) contact me for shipping instructions.
2. Won't that (copper, brass, etc.) piece turn my skin green?
The short answer is "probably."
Here is some information from "Jewelry for Health":
COPPER JEWELRY & GREEN SKIN
People often ask: "Will this bracelet or ring turn my skin green?" My answer is: "I don't know". I work with pure copper and the way a person reacts to pure copper is often different. The best way to find out is by trying one. Most customers who like to wear copper do not care about having an occasional green stain. Other people are very health conscious and, as proof that the copper is working, they expect to see a green mark where copper touches the skin, the same marks that make others feel self-conscious. Ironically, the green copper stains seem to prefer the people who worry the most about getting them. The same bracelet which remains shiny for one person, will turn another person's wrist green, or may acquire multicolored patinas on another. Could these changes be related to a person's metabolism? The answer is Yes! The green stains are caused by deposits of chelated copper and their presence relates directly to the body chemistry of the wearer. Chelated means they are copper compounds in a soluble form assimilable by our bodies. Copper in its pure metallic form cannot be taken in by our bodies, while chelated copper compounds are easily absorbed by our skin. They become visible when the wearer's body dissolves the copper faster than it absorbs it. This happens when there is profuse perspiration (as when exercising on a hot day), or when our sweat becomes more acidic. The acidity of our sweat increases with physical, emotional or mental stress. It also increases with unhealthy diets. I find that eating junk food and sugar creates the green stain for me. Green marks are also believed to appear when the body is hungry for copper. The human body needs more minerals when growing, when pregnant, or when recovering from disease or surgery. A body starving for copper will even manage to dissolve the copper contained in gold alloys and leave marks under 14K gold rings. If you suspect having copper deficiency, please consult your holistic doctor, naturopath or dietician, who by ordering a simple blood test will know the mineral supplements you need to regain balance. As prevention, choose to eat organically grown produce whenever possible. The green stains are normally absorbed overnight, and if needed they wash off with soapy water. If wearers strongly dislike the green marks, they have two choices. They can choose to address the causes and make healthier choices or simply ignore the warning and wear no more copper.

3. Do you offer wholesale or consignment terms?
I do offer wholesale terms that you will be pleased with. I do not work on a consignment basis. If you're interested in wholesale terms please email me at tinahdee [!at] gmail.com.
4. I live outside the US. How do I give you my ring size?
Different countries have different sizing systems for rings. If you provide a ring size for me, please let me know what country system you are basing your size on. If you do not specify, I will assume US sizing. For more information about the conversion specifications, visit this link: http://www.onlineconversion.com/ring_size.htm
5. How do you size wider bands?
I generally make this 1/2 size larger than your ring size - please provide me with your actual ring size at the time of order and I will size your ring accordingly.
6. Do your rings run true to size?
I use the ISO standard for ring size measurements. Read more about that here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ring_size
7, If I order the wrong size can't I just exchange the ring for the right size?
No, everything is made to order, so there isn't a ring here to exchange it with. If the wrong size is ordered, there is a fee to resize the ring which varies depending on the complexity of the ring and the amount that the size is off. Sometimes the only solution is to purchase a whole new ring. So please for your own benefit, be sure of your ring size when ordering.
If you order my ring sizer and use it to determine your ring size before ordering your ring, I guarantee that your ring will fit or I'll resize it for free.
7. Why does it take so long to receive my ring?
Every item in my shop is made to order, so I don't get started on it until you order and it is made especially for you. The production time is due to the line of orders waiting to be made - it takes time! I am fortunate enough to be able to do this as a full time job, so I am out in my workshop every day working on orders. Most of the time I run ahead of schedule and actually ship your order before the "due date", but since I am a "one woman show", I have to be careful about promising orders without working in a buffer in case I have a sick day or have to take a day off for some other unforeseen reason - also, if something comes up in quality control I want to feel like I can pull your order out and make sure it is good enough to send. I hope this helps, but I would be happy to answer any other questions you may have, please click on the "contact seller" link on the left side of the page.
8. What if I don't ask for a certain size?
If you forget to include the size I will try to contact you. If I don't hear from you and it is time to send your ring, I will make it in the most common size: a 7 for women and a 9.5 for men. Resizing fees will still apply if needed - so please don't forget to include your ring size!
9. Why won't you tell me exactly which day my order will ship?
Underneath all the industriousness of my operations here, I am still a creative person, an artist. We artists are known for having our super productive days and our days when we need to let our brains and hands unwind. Sometimes these days are not predictable. When you order, I give you a "ship by" date. I promise you that your order will ship on or before your ship by date. I can't tell you more than that - many people write and ask me if I can tell them where I am in the process of making their ring(s) and if they can get an update on when it will ship. I would have much less time to make rings if I were promising earlier ship dates on rings - besides that isn't fair to the other people who ordered on the same day! The fairest way to handle deadlines is "rush production" - I offer rush production for a fee that is based on the current backlog of orders and how many other people need their orders rushed at the same time. If you order and pay for rush production, then you can tell me when you need your order shipped by. Your order is taken out of the regular production queue and gets special treatment. If you would like rush production on your order instead of a "ship by" date, contact me for details.
