While I gain inspiration from real life plants, while traveling and in my own garden, my goal is not to record specimens in an accurate manner. I create my own illusion of them, adding imaginary elements and experimenting with scale. This approach directs the focus toward the push/pull of nature's balance between manicured and unrestrained, known and unknown. Through studied and detailed documentation of these imaginary plant-forms, the viewer can discover a world otherwise undiscovered.
