AROUND THE BLOCK : collections d'affiches déco représentant Paris par arrondissements (et au-delà...)
Under the name Around the Block, we design and print A3 posters representing Paris.
Paris is an inexhaustible source of inspiration. Tourists have a singular admiration for it, while Parisians have an intimate affection for it.
We stage various iconic places in the capital by giving them a dreamlike and intimate atmosphere. Our bias is to revisit these places through the eye of an architect. Light, shapes, perspectives and colours are therefore very important here.
We want to offer collections by borough, so that everyone can project their attachment to a neighborhood.
Today we are extending this concept to other cities, as part of collaborations or by simple inclination.
Our A3 posters are printed in France, by a printer whose professionalism seduced us. We opt for a printing on Antinoé 170 range paper, whose texture is close to that of canon paper, in order to offer a decorative object as qualitative and aesthetic as possible.
The project is led by Morgan Baufils and Corentin Besse. Both from La Rochelle, we are childhood friends. Art has brought us closer together. The desire to try it has linked us. After having carried out, being younger, some urban interventions in the city of La Rochelle, we wish today to revive this joyful and creative collaboration.

Paris est une source d’inspiration inépuisable. Les touristes lui vouent une admiration singulière, tandis que les parisiens y portent une affection intime.
Nous mettons en scène divers lieux iconiques de la capitale en leur conférant une atmosphère onirique et intimiste. Notre parti pris est de revisiter ces lieux à travers l’œil d’un architecte. La lumière, les formes, les perspectives et les couleurs ont donc ici toute leur importance.
Nous souhaitons offrir des collections par arrondissement, afin que chacun puisse y projeter son attachement à un quartier.
Aujourd'hui nous étendons ce concept à d'autres villes, dans le cadre de collaborations ou par simple inclination.
Nos affiches A3 sont imprimées en France, par un imprimeur dont le professionnalisme nous a séduit. Nous optons pour une impression sur papier Antinoé 170 gammes, dont la texture s'approche de celle du papier canson, afin d’offrir un objet déco le plus qualitatif et esthétique possible.
Le projet est porté par Morgan Baufils et Corentin Besse. Tous deux originaires de La Rochelle, nous sommes amis d’enfance. L’art nous a rapprochés. L’envie de s’y essayer nous a liés. Après avoir réalisé, étant plus jeunes, quelques interventions urbaines dans la ville de La Rochelle, nous souhaitons aujourd’hui faire renaître cette collaboration joyeuse et créative.
