Difficulty System Explanation
My difficulty rating system is designed to help you pick a puzzle that's right for you. It is up to you to determine what your skill level may be, as these ratings are only guidelines.
Intuitive - Solving the puzzle is fairly clear, and twisty puzzles at this level do not require many algorithms if any. You can usually figure these out with your wits alone. Great puzzles for someone who has never solved a Rubik's Cube.
Beginner - The solve will be partly intuitive, possibly part algorithms if it's a twisty puzzle. Great puzzles for someone who has just solved or is working on solving a Rubik's Cube.
Intermediate - You'll need experience in algorithms for twisty puzzles or strategies for tanglements and other puzzles. Good for someone with a lot of experience looking for a challenge.
Advanced - Not only will you need to know general algorithms for twisties or strategies for other puzzles, but you may need to make up a few of your own.
Additionally, if a plus (+) appears after the difficulty rating, it is indicative that the item is more challenging than the average item in that difficulty category. If you're looking for a decent challenge at your skill level, look for the plus!
