Los perros son criaturas asombrosas. No estoy seguro de quién es el responsable del dicho: "Aspiro a ser la persona que mi perro cree que soy", pero resume bastante bien la suerte que tenemos de estar cerca de ellos.

Esta tienda de Esty es nueva y agrego nuevas razas cada pocas semanas. Yo o alguien de nuestra gran familia hemos sido propietarios de todas las razas que ilustro, por lo que conocemos de primera mano sus características.

Mi proceso: el arte de mi tienda se dibuja a mano en papel y luego se crea digitalmente en Photoshop antes de imprimirlo. Ilustré usando solo métodos tradicionales durante años y recién comencé a sumergirme en imágenes de IA para los puntos de partida de la serie de impresiones Naturalist en la tienda. Hago un boceto de un perro o un gato a mano, tratando de conseguir la pose correcta, luego ingreso el boceto en la IA para obtener un montón de "bocetos" y poses aproximados. Desde allí selecciono uno y lo llevo a Photoshop, donde paso de 3 a 5 días pintándolo y cambiándolo digitalmente, agregando texto y adornos, etc. Es en Photoshop donde las imágenes realmente cobran vida. Descubrí que usar IA puede ser frustrante y no es mucho más rápido que usar un bolígrafo y un pincel, y en realidad nunca produce lo que tienes en mente. Sin embargo, lo que sí sirve es generar looks y poses alternativas aproximadas al principio del proceso, aunque 19 de 20 podrían resultar inutilizables como punto de partida para trabajar.

Si quieres una ilustración de una raza que aún no esté representada en la tienda, házmelo saber y veré si puedo convertirla en la siguiente raza. Actualmente no estoy haciendo trabajos personalizados ni retratos de mascotas.

Estoy planeando poner mis imágenes en tazas de café, sudaderas/camisetas y cualquier otra cosa que la gente quiera. Déjame saber si quieres una de mis imágenes sobre algo que no ofrezco y lo investigaré.

Dogs are amazing creatures. Not sure who's responsible for the saying, "I aspire to be the person my dog thinks I am," but it pretty much sums up how lucky we are to be around them.

This Esty store is new and I'm adding new breeds every few weeks. Me or someone in our big extended family has owned every breed I illustrate, so we've got first hand knowledge of their characteristics.

My process: The art in my store is sketched out by hand on paper, then created digitally in photoshop before being printed. I illustrated using only traditional methods for years and just started dipping my toes into AI imagery for the the starting points of the Naturalist series of prints in the store. I sketch up a dog or cat by hand, trying to get the pose right, then input the sketch into into AI to get a bunch of rough "sketches" and poses. From there I select one and take it into Photoshop where I spend 3-5 days digitally painting and changing it, adding text and flourishes, etc. It's in Photoshop that the images really come to life. I've discovered that using AI can be frustrating and it's not much quicker than using a pen and paint brush, and it never actually produces what's in your mind. What it is good for though is generating rough alternative looks and poses early in the process, even though 19 out of 20 might be unusable as a starting point to work from.

If you want a breed illustration that's not represented in the store yet, let me know and I'll see if I can make that the next breed. I 'm not currently doing custom work or pet portraits.
