'Keeping It Green'
Welcome and thanks for visiting our shop, Eclectic Upcycle Craft.
Here, we share a passion for being creative and socially responsible. We strongly believe in keeping our environment green. Therefore, we have a passion for creating new, artistic and unique items from reclaimed and surplus materials.
Our background is as general contractors and home re-modelers in Northeast Ohio. (Allied Remodeling is our sister company's name.) Several years ago, we started practicing green deconstruction; the orderly and selective disassembly of a house or just part of a house, saving select components for re-use or up-cycling. We reduce our carbon footprint by diverting the construction materials from landfills. This is a whole different type of demo day!
All of our handcrafted creations are made in our shop; and, as much as possible from sustainable, recyclable and/or reclaimed materials. Since we use materials available to us at the time of creation, no two items are exactly alike. Wood species will vary due to availability; most will be reclaimed old growth lumber from our deconstruction sites.
Did you notice that our craft supplies are both eclectic and environmentally friendly?
As creative crafters, we realized that there were also opportunities to upcycle some of those architectural elements and materials. Our reclaimed wood and tile are directly from those projects. We used cork and burlap bags in our own projects and realized that others might want these environmentally friendly raw materials too.
We hope you find inspiration and materials for your next Eco-friendly craft project here in our shop!
