Knotty Crew è un piccolo negozio gestito dalla nostra casa di famiglia, nato da lunghe notti di lavoro, grandi sogni e dal sostegno incrollabile di mio marito Muhammad.
Prima di questo, cercavo di capire come fare qualcosa che mi sembrava impossibile: essere pienamente presente per i miei figli e costruire qualcosa di significativo per me stessa. Ogni madre conosce questa tensione. Vorresti essere presente in ogni piccolo momento, in ogni accompagnamento a scuola, in ogni martedì ordinario che in qualche modo sembra prezioso. Ma dentro di te c'è anche qualcosa che ti spinge a creare, a crescere, a dare il tuo contributo. Per molto tempo, ho pensato di dover scegliere.
Muhammad non mi ha mai permesso di crederci. Quando gli ho presentato quest'idea – disegnare regali personalizzati per i partecipanti al matrimonio, per le damigelle che si preparano insieme, per i testimoni dello sposo che brindano la sera prima – non ha esitato. Si è seduto accanto a me al tavolo della cucina mentre i bambini dormivano, aiutandomi a pensarci, discutendo ogni dettaglio, credendoci prima ancora che ci credessi io stessa. E ci crede ancora.
Knotty Crew è nato da quel tavolo da cucina.
Sono sempre stata attratta dai momenti che circondano i matrimoni, non solo dalla cerimonia in sé, ma da tutto ciò che la accompagna. Il weekend di addio al nubilato in cui la sposa ride fino alle lacrime. La mattina del matrimonio, quando i testimoni dello sposo sono tutti insieme per l'ultima volta, solo loro due. La damigella d'onore che è stata al suo fianco in ogni momento, finalmente in piedi accanto alla sua migliore amica all'altare. Questi momenti meritano qualcosa di altrettanto personale.
Questo è ciò che realizziamo. Ogni bicchiere, ogni borsa, ogni regalo personalizzato che esce dal nostro negozio porta il nome di qualcuno, una data, una storia. Dedichiamo molta attenzione a ogni design perché sappiamo che non si tratta solo di un prodotto, ma di un ricordo che qualcuno porterà con sé per tutta la vita.
Gestire questo negozio da casa significa che i miei figli crescono vedendo la loro madre costruire qualcosa. Questo per me significa più di quanto possa esprimere a parole. E avere Muhammad al mio fianco, che si occupa delle cose che non posso fare io, che esulta per i successi e mi sostiene nei momenti difficili, significa che non ho mai dovuto affrontare nulla da sola.

Knotty Crew is a small shop run out of our family home, built on late nights, big dreams, and the unwavering support of my husband Muhammad.
Before this, I was trying to figure out how to do something that felt impossible — be fully present for my kids and build something meaningful of my own. Every mother knows that pull. You want to be there for every small moment, every school run, every ordinary Tuesday that somehow feels precious. But you also have something inside you that wants to create, to grow, to contribute. For a long time, I thought I had to choose.
Muhammad never let me believe that. When I came to him with this idea — designing personalized gifts for wedding parties, for the bridesmaids getting ready together, for the groomsmen raising a glass the night before — he didn't hesitate. He sat beside me at the kitchen table while the kids slept, helping me think it through, talking through every detail, believing in it before I fully believed in it myself. He still does.
Knotty Crew was born from that kitchen table.
I've always been drawn to the moments surrounding weddings — not just the ceremony itself, but everything around it. The bachelorette weekend where the bride laughs until she cries. The morning of, when the groomsmen are all together for the last time as just the guys. The bridesmaid who has been there through everything, finally getting to stand beside her best friend at the altar. These moments deserve something that feels as personal as they are.
That's what we make. Every tumbler, every tote, every custom gift that leaves our shop carries someone's name, someone's date, someone's story. We put real thought into every design because we know it's not just a product — it's part of a memory someone will carry for the rest of their life.
Running this shop from home means my kids grow up watching their mother build something. That matters to me more than I can say. And having Muhammad in my corner — handling the things I can't, cheering on the wins, steadying me through the hard days — means I've never had to do any of it alone.
