La historia de Rustic Remnants se remonta a décadas atrás. Comenzó como un negocio familiar en Estambul. Cemal Deregözü, su fundador, comenzó su carrera en el Gran Bazar (Kapalı Çarşı), uno de los mercados más antiguos del mundo, ubicado en el centro histórico de Estambul. Recibió formación de maestros artesanos tradicionales en la producción de alfombras.
Tras años de experiencia en el sector, decidió fundar su propia empresa para reflejar sus 25 años de conocimiento y experiencia. Actualmente, al frente de Rustic Remnants, participa en todas las etapas, desde la fabricación hasta el diseño, y supervisa todo el proceso de ventas, desde la venta minorista hasta la mayorista.
Hoy, Rustic Remnants ha crecido más allá de las alfombras: ofrece auténticas alfombras turcas vintage, alfombras Oushak teñidas, kilims étnicos y textiles de cáñamo, tablas de madera rústicas y antiguas tinajas de barro de pueblos. Cada pieza se selecciona cuidadosamente de pueblos de toda Turquía, conservando su historia, tradición y artesanía atemporal.

Step by step Rustic Remnants:
The story of Rustic Remnants goes back decades. It started as a family business in the city of Istanbul. Cemal Deregözü, the founder, began his career in the Grand Bazaar (Kapalı Çarşı), one of the oldest markets in the world, located in the historic heart of Istanbul. He was trained by masters of traditional craftsmanship in carpet production.
After years of experience in the field, he decided to establish his own company to reflect his 25 years of knowledge and expertise. Currently, while managing Rustic Remnants, he takes part in all stages — from manufacturing to design — while overseeing the entire sales process from retail to wholesale.
Today, Rustic Remnants has grown beyond rugs — offering authentic Turkish vintage rugs, overdyed Oushak carpets, ethnic kilims & hemp textiles, rustic wooden boards, and antique village clay jars. Each piece is carefully sourced from villages across Turkey, carrying history, tradition, and timeless craftsmanship.
Under his leadership, we at Rustic Remnants aim to share our passion with the world. Our unique collection is now proudly sold in the U.S., the U.K., and throughout Europe.
