Learning how to sew at a young age, it has always been something I have enjoyed doing. I enjoy making anything from clothes, to baby and kid items, to home goods and find a lot of peace in the process. I also love collecting and building up stashes of fabric.
Getting wrapped up in my career, I started to find less and less time to sew, even though the desire was always in the back of my mind. After bringing our daughter home in 2020 and trying to juggle a busy work life and being a mom, I knew I needed to find a better work/home balance and make more time for the things I enjoy - which led me to get back into sewing! What started out as sewing clothes and other things for our daughter, turned into the desire to create things for others as well. And so, The Threaded Poppy was created in 2021.
Even though I still work full-time, I find a lot of joy in providing things for my family in more sustainable and self-sufficient ways. Our daughter also loves watching and "helping" me organize and pick out fabrics to use. I look forward to passing these skills on, and teaching her how to sew things of her own as she gets older.
