How do you scan your images?

I currently use a Brother MFC-J497DW all-in-one to scan my images. I'd love to get my hands on a decent flatbed scanner and a document scanner to help speed up my processing.

Where do you get your images?

I buy a lot of materials from online auctions and, occasionally, other private sellers. I watch for lots of postcards, antique books, and even assorted ephemera in lots of OTHER things that I can scan. I purchase hand-drawn art from other artists and am careful to make sure those pieces aren't AI-generated. Anything that isn't sourced from artists or my own collection comes from the public domain—RawPixel, Unsplash, and the museum collections that both sites host.

Hell no. I'm here for REAL vintage, not a computer program's idea of what vintage looks like. Everything "made" by AI looks the same, without the character of handmade art. Support real artists. GenAI is not worth the massive resources required to run it. Please stop supporting the theft machines.

Most paper items are shipped via lettermail or letter-post through Canada Post. They do not come with tracking. If you want tracking, please contact me and I'll create a custom listing for you. Calculated shipping is applied to items that are too big for lettermail. You'll receive a tracking number once that item has been processed.

Why are your prices on thepapergirl.ca different from Etsy?

Since my fees are lower on my website, and I have more control over how I set up shipping costs, I'm able to offer lower prices there.
