The Heilan' Coo (Highland Cow) is an iconic image for those from the North East and Highlands of Scotland. The majority of artists in the area in which I live, who take their inspiration from the beauty around them every day, will at some point create their own image of a Heilan' Coo. It is a rite of passage for local creators.
This listing is for a DIGITAL DOWNLOAD of the tutorial explaining how to make this Highland Cow brooch.
The pattern contains step by step photographs showing exactly what to do. Alongside each photograph is an explanation of the process.
The pattern is suitable for beginners and for experienced bead embroidery fans looking for a new approach.
You will need: 7g of cow coloured size 15 beads, 1 pink superduo, 2 leg coloured rizos or superunos, 2 pink size 15s, 2 black size 15s, 2 horn beads*, bead backing, ultrasuede, needle, thread, brooch pin, glue and thin card.
Horn beads can be ordered from Delicate Sparkles or Beady Notions on Etsy or made with polymer clay

I am happy for you to sell items made using the tutorial locally, in galleries and at local craft fairs. I do not permit the selling of items made using the tutorial on the internet. I also do not permit mass production of items made using the tutorial. Please credit me as the designer.
If you would prefer to buy a kit as well as the tutorial then please contact me as kits are available.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch.
*Horn beads can be bought from Donna Sanders at Beady Notions on Etsy. They won't be listed but she will happily make them to order. Alternatively you can make your own from polymer clay.
Please note, the pattern is written in ENGLISH only. The photographs are clear and detailed so many beaders will manage to create pieces using the photographs alone.
Etsy often cannot support a download to a mobile phone or tablet. Customers may have to download via a laptop or desktop computer.
Please also note that I live in Scotland so my working hours are GMT.
