**THIS PATTERN IS IN ENGLISH ONLY**

One of my favourite things about being a knitter is being able to create beautiful pieces for family and friends. I once was requested to knit up a very simple, pixie-style bonnet with long ties for an old friend's new baby. Named for that sweet girl, FLO was straightforward to create. However, being the pedant that I am, I had to try several different techniques to get the fit at the nape of the neck just right. The combination of super soft merino, squishy garter stitch, and my neckline technique makes FLO your go-to baby cap for every occasion.

SIZES
0-3 months: to fit up to 37cm
3-9 months: to fit up to 43cm
9-18 months: to fit up to 48cm
Toddler: to fit up to 51cm

To make this bonnet, you will need:
* any DK/heavy DK weight yarn with a high wool content, 65-120 metres (72-131 yards) required
* 4.5mm/US 7 60-80cm circular needles, plus one extra straight or circular needle of the same size, for bind off
* 4mm/US 6 double pointed needles or small circumference circular needles, for i-cord
* darning/embroidery needle

I used White Gum Wool ethical 100% superfine merino 8ply for my samples. My testers all used either a 100% merino or wool yarn, or a yarn that is a blend of animal fibres but still wool or merino dominant. Any DK/heavy DK weight yarn of this kind will work for this pattern.

Gauge: 20 sts and 40 rows over 10cm in stocking st on 4.5mm/US 7 needles, worked flat, after blocking. You may need to change needle size to obtain gauge.

This pattern has been professionally tech edited and test knitted.
