"Excellent quality thread, great value. My only regret is ordering the 50 shade set instead of the 100. I haven’t found any flaws or snags in it. It’s a lovely, shiny filament silk with a loose twist. Thicker than Piper’s silk floss, or Soie de Paris, but you might divide the strands. I tried this just to experiment, but I’m finding the undivided strands are already a good thickness for shading. The skeins can be a bit fiddly to keep from getting tangled. But there’s probably some trick to it that I’m just not aware of. Anyway, I’m sure you could use this thread for plenty of other embroidery techniques besides silk shading/long & short stitch. For example, I bet it would look very nice in satin stitch. Enclosed is a picture of my first attempt at shading, I’m sure you can tell I’m a novice at this technique ;)"
