I never considered myself to be creative. Being a Type A I approach everything with such precision it can feel like there is no room for it. Somewhere slong the way, I tried my hand at acting. Acting led to makeup, makeup led to seeing color in different ways, noticing textures and shadows. This led to a love of photography. Soon I was selling blank cards with photos on them at a coffee shop which then led to the creation of my first "Sipper Sweater". I so loved knitting and creating patterns that I sort of went from there. My monsters were my next creation when I wanted to make something for a baby that wasn't a blanket. Having my daughter then pushed me to want some less " girly" hair accessories so I came up with my own. I love craft tools, embellisments and double sided tape so I love to make cards for all occasions. There is some fun stuff out there and I like putting it all together.
I like using things in a way you normally wouldn't. I'm not the best at it but I giggle with glee when I do. I like being green when possible and lots of times that comes from making something myself. I love when someone compliments an item and tells me "I wish I thought of that".
I do all of this creating from home where I am a mom to a toddler and am married to my best friend. They are both more creative than I and inspire me every day. I love finding fun fabrics (though I'll probably never sew with them) and going to flea markets and estate sales. I'm slowly learning to refurb furniture and love the satisfaction it brings. I love to cook and bake and hope to have a garden some day. When do I have the time?
