From there to here.
The journey begins ... I worked for 20 years in the creative world as a graphic designer and art director. For part of that time, I worked for a nationally known magazine in their food and entertaining division and designed many cookbooks. I loved the people I worked with and those memories will be with me forever. It gets me every time when I see something I designed in a bookstore or library! I was proud of the work I was doing but I knew it was time to move on.
Through a series of "meant to be" events, I decided to leave the design world to do what I really love. I took a leap of faith and began my metalsmithing journey. I watched, learned and practiced until I was able to create the work I had envisioned. I had sketch books filled with jewelry designs and after much learning and practice, I was finally able to make the drawings come to life. During this process I created a home studio and it's truly my happy place!
A huge bonus to working out of my home is being there for my boys! I love being there when they get off the school bus and my jewelry business allows me the flexibility to be available whenever they need me. I feel grateful everyday to be able to do that. To have a supportive family makes all the difference!
The biggest thrill for me is reading my customers feedback. Getting to hear how much they're enjoying their new jewelry brings me so much joy! I love creating heirloom quality jewelry to cherish for years to come.
I continue to improve my craft with each passing day. I mean, what can be better than working with amazing tools and a little fire? It brings me so much joy to be able to live my dream as an artist.
