Hello!
My name is Lena, the hands and heart behind "Atelier September".
I am an art historian, married and mother of two marvelous girls. After the birth of my second child I felt the urge to work with my hands. When my fingers got in contact with clay for the first time, I knew that this would be a new wonderful journey - a journey back to myself.
My atelier is situated in an old apartment building in the center of Hamburg with a view into a small, lovely garden.

The weekends of my childhood I spent in the beautiful "Schlei"region near the Baltic Sea. Even today me and my family have a summer cottage there.
My work is mainly inspired by the Nordic nature, my love of vintage style and modern urban living.

I have always been keen on surrounding myself with lovely objects. Pottery enables me to slow down and live in the moment. Through my ceramics I wish to pass this beauty and calmness to others and enrich their everyday life.
My ceramics are functional, of muted colors and decorated with small, floral elements.
Every piece is unique and, in a way, perfectly imperfect. I love the idea that the movement of my hands can be felt on the dining table.
