Beastly FX è nata nel 2024, mentre gli Stati Uniti stavano uscendo dall'incubo del COVID. Io e mia moglie cercavamo un'attività secondaria, così ho comprato un piccolo laser da tavolo e ho provato a dare vita ad alcune delle mie visioni (più o meno) oscure.
Abbiamo iniziato a creare opere d'arte leggermente scure, incise al laser, e a venderle alle fiere dell'artigianato locali. La nostra linea di prodotti iniziale consisteva in sottobicchieri, fiaschette e luci Frightlight. Tutto qui.
Da allora, il negozio – e la nostra collezione di attrezzature – ha continuato a crescere. Abbiamo aggiunto un laser a CO₂ da 80 watt, una stampante 3D e ora la nostra prima stampante UV. Sembra che la curva di apprendimento non finisca mai, ma nemmeno le possibilità.
Le fiere dell'artigianato sono ancora la nostra principale fonte di guadagno, ma stiamo aprendo un negozio su Etsy per raggiungere nuovi clienti, sfruttare al meglio tutti gli strumenti che abbiamo imparato e fare in modo che Beastly FX diventi la nostra attività a tempo pieno una volta in pensione.

Beastly FX began in 2024, as the United States was emerging from the COVID nightmare. My wife and I were looking for a side hustle, so I bought a small desktop laser and tried my hand at bringing some of my dark(ish) visions to life.
We began creating lightly dark, laser-engraved art and selling it at local craft fairs. Our original product line consisted of coasters, flasks, and Frightlights. That was it.
Since then, the shop—and our collection of equipment—has continued to grow. We added an 80-watt CO₂ laser, a 3D printer, and now our first UV printer. It seems the learning curve never ends, but neither do the possibilities.
Craft fairs are still our bread and butter, but we’re opening an Etsy shop to reach new customers, put all those tools to good use, and work toward making Beastly FX our full-time retirement gig.
