A Little Whimsy, a Little Nostalgia, and a Whole Lot of Creating
Bird in a Cage began more than a decade ago with one simple thing: I loved making things.
What started as a creative outlet grew into a small business and, somewhere along the way, became a pretty big part of my life. Over the years, I’ve created everything from party decorations and personalized pieces to stickers and illustrations. Bird in a Cage Digital feels like the next chapter — a place where I can turn all the ideas constantly floating around in my head into artwork that other people can use to create something of their own.
I’m especially drawn to things that feel whimsical, cozy, nostalgic, colorful, and maybe a little unexpected. I love taking an idea and building an entire tiny world around it. A Christmas collection isn’t just Christmas — maybe it’s a pastel North Pole, a glamorous holiday on Fifth Avenue, a snowy European village, or a Christmas spa where everything smells like cocoa and peppermint.
That storytelling is probably my favorite part.
You’ll find clipart and seamless patterns inspired by holidays, books, childhood nostalgia, cozy little moments, pretty details, and whatever else has captured my imagination lately. Some collections are sweet and classic. Some are silly. Some are very specific. (Those might actually be my favorites.)
And behind all of it is a real person creating, tweaking, changing her mind, obsessing over tiny details, and getting way too excited when an idea finally comes together exactly the way I pictured it.
One of the things I love most about digital art is that my finished piece can become the beginning of someone else’s creation. Maybe you’re another small business owner making products for your customers. Maybe you’re designing something for a party, making a gift, decorating for a holiday, or crafting just because it makes you happy.
Whatever brought you here, I hope you find something that makes you immediately think, “Oh, I know exactly what I want to make with that.”
After more than a decade of running Bird in a Cage, I still get excited about creating something new — and I’m incredibly grateful that I get to keep doing it.
Thank you for being here, for supporting a small creative business, and especially for giving my artwork a place in something you create. ♡
