A Very BOXY Story
One day I bought a dress. It was a beautiful dress. The perfect dress. Except, it needed a necklace. After an endless search I decided that there was no necklace in the world that would do. So I made one myself. I received lots of beautiful comments about my necklace. The dress wasn't happy.
Friends started to request necklaces and then friends of friends asked to buy pieces. We decided it was time to launch Boxy. We set up shop right here on Etsy in 2012 and have been shipping Boxy out to necklace loving ladies all over the world ever since.
Boxy is known for it's use of chaotic colour and simple form. We work hard to create a product that offers quality craftsmanship and we sculpt every single one of our square beads by hand. Colour is obviously a big deal over here at Boxy. We are constantly on the lookout for inspiration and find it in the most unlikely places - a line of dialogue, a vintage magazine page, a memory. The creative process is something we get excited about. Naming the pieces is the best part - we love connecting colour to a concept. Some names are cryptic beyond comprehension but there is always logic lurking there somewhere.
BOXY has been lucky enough to be featured in magazines and blogs. We are even spotted on television from time to time. You know your necklace is an original Boxy piece because it says so. Every necklace features a signature, hand stamped 'BOXY' impression that is fired into the bead.
So that's us. That's what we're about. That's the BOXY story.
