From Standby Superhero to Stagewear Creator — Celebrating the Real Heroes of Theatre
L'idea di Callboard Collective è nata durante il mio periodo come riserva per Come From Away, spesso definito il lavoro più difficile a teatro. Io e il mio team di riserva ci scambiavamo Bitmoji di noi stessi con i mantelli. Perché? Perché mentre gli attori sono al centro dell'attenzione, le riserve sono gli eroi non celebrati, pronti a entrare in scena al momento opportuno. Volevo un modo divertente per celebrare questo status di "supereroe".
Quell'idea giocosa mi è rimasta impressa per anni e finalmente l'ho trasformata in una maglietta. Quella singola maglietta è rapidamente diventata un'intera linea che celebra attori, creativi, troupe e superfan che mantengono viva la magia del teatro ogni giorno. Ogni capo è realizzato con amore e rispetto per la passione e il duro lavoro che danno vita alle storie sul palco.

The idea for Callboard Collective began during my time as a standby for Come From Away — often called the hardest job in theatre. My standby team and I used to trade Bitmojis of ourselves wearing capes. Why? Because while actors get the spotlight, standbys are the unsung heroes ready to leap in at a moment’s notice. I wanted a fun way to celebrate that “superhero” status.
That playful idea stuck with me for years, and finally, I turned it into a T-shirt design. That single shirt quickly grew into a whole line celebrating actors, creatives, crew, and superfans who keep the theatre magic alive every day. Each piece is made with love and respect for the passion and hard work that bring stories to life on stage.
