PRIDE ART – past
8 years ago Lars Deike had his studio in the cellar vaults of the old post office in the main street, the "THE TANK" in the BRICKS courtyards - in several rooms he began to capture male bodies on paper and canvas. He showed his art in numerous exhibitions. Fetish, eroticism were his main themes. He regularly exhibited at Europe's largest fetish event FOLSOM EUROPE. First he turned a hairdresser's shop into a gallery, exhibited in a tattoo shop on Fuggerstrasse - brought the fetish life to a veterinarian and showed his pictures in BREZEL Berlin. The gay and lesbian Motzstrassenfest, Easter Berlin, Folsom Berlin, Darklands in Antwerp, London Fetish Week, Fetish Pride in Gran Canaria – his works hung everywhere. Five years ago he moved his studio to Wiesenweg near the Ostkreuz. He created new works in a 150 square meter factory hall. In 2019 the first PRIDE ART exhibition took place. Lars Deike not only wanted to show his art, but also to share his studio or showroom in the Brezel with other artists. He organized group and solo exhibitions. He wanted other artists to beautify the walls with art. RON Kibble, Bianca Fox, Patrick Bartsch, Robert W. Richards showed their works with the help of ART PR. The PRIDE ART studio in Wiesenweg regularly organizes group exhibitions. As a trio of Aaron Holloway, Richard Schemmerer and Lars Deike, the exhibitions kept getting bigger and more successful. The PRIDE ART Atelier had fashion shows for Fashion Week, had film evenings with Zazie de Paris, Matt Lambert and Rinaldo Hopf, neighboring halls of a Berlin Trabi workshop gave us space for art festivals - PRIDE ART was part of the "Long Night of Pictures" of the Lichtenberg Culture Senate . Pride Art steadily increased its exhibiting artists. There were a.o.
Jack Sanders, Kenneth Anger, Jack Fritscher, Mavado Charon, Gio Black Peter, Wayne Hollowell, Ron L Kibble, Theo Große-Venhaus, François Harray, Michael Rädel, Callum Leo Hughes, Jörg Rautenberg, Thomas Abram Barker-Detwiler, Marcelo Paralta, Ken Borg, Tariq Alsaadi, Răzvan Lucian Bugnariu, Lars Deike, Aaron D Holloway Lee Campbell, Thodoros Brouskomatis, TEHEF, Eva Mueller, Ingo Lamm, Rinaldo Hopf, Kiernan Cobarrubia, Bev Stroganov, Daniel Marcel Schmude-Sterling, Patrick Bartsch, Victor Hensel -Coe, Jens Krause, Angelica Gawell, Disa Jo, Athalia Altmann and others.
Information about "THE KNAST":
From July 1, 2017, the new owners of this gem, a Berlin entrepreneurial couple, are looking forward to waking it up from its slumber gently and in accordance with the preservation order. Since the beginning of April 2016, Jochen Hahn has had the distinctive, old bunch of keys for the entrance gates and cell doors. In the last few years of vacancy, this prison was often used as a film set. Directors Tom Tykwer, George Clooney, Moritz Bleibtreu and Til Schweiger filmed there, says Hahn.
The prison was attached to the district court of Lichterfelde in 1906. From the outside, the ensemble with its aristocratic Renaissance architecture fits perfectly into the Lichterfeld villa area.
PRIDE ART will move into building C, the former cell wing, "this year step by step" against completion - the completion of a small boutique hotel with 9 rooms is planned for the end of 2022 and the construction sites will gradually disappear. Chamber concerts, theater performances, etc. have already taken place in a cupola hall.
There will be an upscale restaurant on the ground floor of "The Knast", flanked by food events and outdoor dining in the beautiful prison garden. The Knast is already the operator of the fine dining restaurant theNOname at Oranienburgerstrasse 32, right next to the synagogue in Mitte at Heckmann-Höfe and has already coined the motto #nolimitsnoboundaries!
