Incredible piece of wood you've selected for this bowl! This is the standout for me of the 4 pieces I bought. I cannot believe the grain pattern is so gorgeous. Growth rings in trees that grow in a year-round warmer climate tend to be much harder to see because without the hot/cold climate extremes the early and late wood in the growth rings sort of fades into looking like all the same kind of wood all the way through (teak has this issue as well). I pulled out my flashlight to see the grain in the wood (which is determined by the growth rings) and amazingly it was clear to see...even "scalloped shaped" in some areas. Perhaps the tree had a little too much "happy juice" to drink at some point in the past? No matter - it is singularly beautiful. Thank you for your hard work and the beautiful art you create.

I've never seen this wood species before. It has a stunning shimmer to the wood (both in the heart and sap wood). Spalting pattern is beautiful. I noticed it has 2 separate pith areas with heart and sapwood. Must have been a bear to turn. You did an excellent job and made a treasure come to life. Thank you!
