Unique with every stitch!

Hi, I'm Gabi Peters and I develop jewelry made of wire made using textile techniques (crocheting, knitting, kumihimo and various other braiding and wrapping techniques).

I love jewelry and handicraft and of course unusual things. My heart beats faster when I can develop new pieces of jewellery and products.
As a child, I always liked to deal with small tricky things. Handicraft and art were my favorite subjects.
In my teenage years I crocheted a lot ..... and I was busy with fillet crochet ..... I crocheted doilies, stores and whole curtains. In the 80s it was knitting's turn ...... Sweaters, vests, cuffs, scarves, etc.
I also liked to sew my clothes.
It should most of all be something that no one else wears.

I find that today in the cities you almost always find the same shops and brands that all offer the same thing. I really want to set a counterpoint with my stuff. This is also the typical thing for an artisan. Everyone has their own personal signature, which is not available anywhere else. And that's why I love art, crafts and my job.

After school, I first trained as an educator. I also worked in this job for several years.

However, my soul did not leave me any peace ....... The job was fun for me, but something inside me pushed me to keep going. I was passionate about painting and handicrafts and so it came about that I applied to the art academy in Maastricht and was accepted there. At the age of 27, I decided to learn something completely different.
And it was really a lot of fun :-)

In 1999 I received my diploma as a textile designer.
After that, I worked with various design studios (textile design Dagmar Nies, Krefeld and Atelier A-Quer, Krefeld) and designed patterns for decorative fabrics, greeting cards, gift wrapping papers and nightwear.
In cooperation with the design studio Trend Trade in Papenburg, I developed designs and colours for upholstery fabrics. Twice a year I created my own bed linen collection for various companies in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Austria.

When I met my current partner in 2006, I moved back to my "old" home - the South Eifel. This was a completely new phase of life and thus a career change occurred.
My first jewelry collection was created and I started exhibiting it at craft markets.

Wire jewelry design Gabi Peters was born ;-)

Interesting facts about me
I love working in the garden.
Since I live in the South Eifel, I have my own garden and grow my vegetables and fruits there. It is a pleasure to eat your own vegetables. I know very well that it has not been treated with chemicals, and it tastes much better than purchased vegetables.

To clear my head, I like to go to the forest. The "forest fairies and angels" inspire me to create new creations and ideas. I also like to go for a round in the dark ....... then you experience soooo a deep silence ...... that's beautiful.

Ah, yes... I am also a yoga, ZENbo balance and meditation teacher. I still give one or two courses every day.

And as creatives.... how can it be otherwise I give acrylic painting courses and sketch hikes at various institutions, such as the VHS or the Landfrauen, as well as at the Creative Workshop in Mürringen, Belgium.
And the latest ....... since 2019 I also give wire jewelry courses :-))
If you are interested in my creative courses, just have a look at my homepage:

More from me ;-))
I love nature and am passionate about hiking. Of course, a round of sauna must also be .... if there is still a massage .... all the better :-)
Also, I'm more of a morning person than a night owl.
I look forward to meeting you. Just say hello ;-)

Frequently asked questions
How do I determine the correct ring size? - Part 1

You can determine the right ring size as follows! Please cut a paper strip: 6 mm wide and 10 cm longWrap it around your finger and tighten it well so that you can easily rotate the paper strip around your finger.Mark both endings and now determine your ring size by placing the stripe on the ruler and reading the INNER CIRCUMFERENCE in millimeters, e.B. 55 mm corresponds to the ring size 17.5.Ready!You have been able to determine your ring size without a ring!

Further information on ring size determination - Part 2

The fingers of the left and right hand are often of different widths. Please calculate your ring size on the hand on which you will wear the ring. You know your hands best. Please note that the hands are usually swollen a little thicker in the evening than in the morning. When it is hot, the fingers usually swell a bit. The fingers are usually thinner in winter than in summer. However, this is different for every person. Please also keep in mind that in many people the finger joint is slightly wider than the finger bone directly behind the joint. Measure the size so that the ring still goes over the joint.

More information on ring size determination - Part 3

The finger circumference changes in the course of life, so please do not rely on ring sizes measured a long time ago. Determine your ring size as directly as possible before buying. If you want to be absolutely sure that you have determined the right size, then have it checked with a jeweler or goldsmith. If you visit me at the craft market, I can also do it there at the booth. On my homepage you will also find a ring size
