5 out of 5 starsAn absolutely STUNNING coat. Laura was so helpful and answered all my questions and even supplied additional measurements to make sure that the garment fit me perfectly. Beautifully tailored, including a lovely lining. This is a signature piece I will treasure forever.

5 out of 5 starsBeautiful delicate flowers, less garish than expected rather pastel but that's why they fit perfectly to the other flowers and I can put both in my hair! 😀
About IkimonoDesign
Giving used Kimono a new life
I'm a german girl following her two passions, Japan and crafting.
After spending some time as an exchange student in Japan I learned to deeply appreciate the craftsmanship and beauty of Kimono but also learned that it's a slowly dying art.
Kimonos are elegant, beautiful and luxurious, but fading away.
Japan is thriving for modernisation and progress. In the bustling cities, crammed trains and fast lives, the deliberate practise of wearing a kimono only happens on very rare festive occasions.
This means that many kimonos, passed down from former generations get tossed away or end up in second-hand stores. I went to Japan and bought up as many beautiful kimonos as I could ship home.
I want to return the beautiful silks and craftsmanship that went into the handstitched, designed and painted kimonos to its former purpose. To make them into items that are used, appreciated and loved every day.
I want to give kimonos a new life and share the joy and excitement I feel about Japanese culture.
