    About

Video summary: Sägearbeit auf der Dekupiersäge mit feinem Sägeblatt.

Jewelry and accessoires in the colors of wood.

Precious wood is defined as wood that exhibits beautiful and expressive coloring, distinctive contrasts and exquisite grain and texture.

Several years have passed since my extensive and repeated travels through the Indian subcontinent, but the intense experiences are still present in my mind. In the Jain temples of Mount Abu and Pallitano, before the Taj Mahal and in several Indian museums, I was overwhelmed by the high levels of craftsmanship, the ancient India was able to accomplish in marble and ivory.
The magic of India, my love for filigree things, and 20 years’ experience as a cabinet maker, forged into the ingredients necessary to give birth to my intarsia108 project.

You may wonder – why Intarsia 108?
In India, 108 is cherished as an auspicious number that runs like a thread through the culture of this vast country. Temples may have 108 steps leading up to them, or there are 108 differrent pillars. Many gods of the Hindu religion have 108 names. The malas (rosaries) of Hindus and Buddhists have 108 beads etc.
