Jazzafine: pieces full of verve
I am fascinated by courageous and self-assured women. Women who have become idols of their time because of their vivid lifestyles, their uncommon ideas and their awesome activities. My own pieces of work represent a tribute to them: Billie Holiday, Frida Kahlo, Mata Hari, Lou Andreas Salome and Josephine Baker to name just a few…
After about a decade of studies at University I had to realize that foremost the work with my hands is to make me proud and cheerful… what a supreme irony! Yet these years have provided me with a good foundation: Literature, arts and music have inspired me until today. My studies at graphics & design have trained my senses for colors, lines and proportions. The very thread which connects the fabrics and pearls, the laces and feathers within my creations has its roots within the Blues of Harlem and carries the spirit of stylish novels of the 19th century.
In 2008 - firstly by chance and then consequently - I have discovered my passion and wining touch for delicate fabrics, antic laces, fierce feathers and vintage pearls. It all sums up in Jazzafine: A label for the most beautiful headdresses and accessories for today’s most powerful, courageous and self-assured women.
Since a few years now I do live with my family and pets in an area called Odenwald. The rich nature provides me with additional inspiration and is by itself a magnificent scenery for my product shots. And as mother of two daughters I am constantly challenged and driven to be role-model myself. Not just for style, but for passion. I want to give proof to the pudding that passion and patience will pay off in finding a vocation for oneself. And that such a vocation will lead to a deep and rewarding satisfaction.
Sincerely yours, Carolina
