Announcement    I hope you enjoy browsing through my shop. If you have any questions, you can send me a message at any time. :)

Out of respect & appreciation, however, I ask you not to copy my pictures. Should you think: "Oh cool! I can do that too!" Then please consider whether you would actually have come up with the idea for this picture. Because the idea is (in addition to the craft) above all what original art is all about.

So thank you very much for that.

"From old to new & become new again!" – Upcycling type of a special kind

Hey, I'm Claudi,
Artist with passion, pizza and music lover. As the founder of MEIN HOOD! I would like to say goodbye to the grey everyday dreariness together with you and transform your home or company into an inspiring oasis of well-being with unique, sustainable works of art & a pinch of humour.

THE UNERWARTete WAY TO YOUR OWN LABEL//
Art is my elixir of life. Therefore, it was not surprising that I studied art education after graduating from high school and then worked as an art teacher. Until a few years ago a deep cut in my life occurred... During a long-awaited dream holiday in the tropics, I caught several serious infections that resulted in chronic fatigue syndrome. While I originally jumped carefree through my everyday life like a fun-loving flummi, suddenly nothing went at all. I often felt aged by several decades, even my beloved grandmother had more energy than I did. I couldn't do the simplest everyday activities without outside help. No one can tell me if things will ever get better again - and that in their early 30s! "What now? What's next? What else can I do with my life? The studies, the hard legal clerkship! All for free?!" A big emotional slump followed. However, this one also had something good! On the one hand, during this time I became aware of what really matters in life: namely the people in your life who like you as you are, with all your facets - who are there for you even when you are no longer the bright sun & no longer "function" as expected. On the other hand, art took on a completely new meaning for me during this time. While drawing was less of my favorite techniques in times of my studies, I now began to draw all at once - probably because it was possible at any time in any place without much (effort) effort. It increasingly helped me to express and process certain events and emotions for which I sometimes could not find words. Later I wanted to breathe more life into the graphics & I started embroidering them. At first, I used the materials I found in my house completely unconsciously: beautiful old perineal tablecloths as well as the old embroidery yarn of my grandmother. In the meantime, the alienation of unused materials has become one of my artistic principles. On the one hand, to keep my own ecological footprint as small as possible. On the other hand, I just love to play with the contrasts between the old "Materlialien" and modern motifs.
Embroidery developed into a real (meditaven) passion and awakened new creative possibilities in me. And above all, it was not physically exhausting. FROM OLD TO NEW & BECOME NEW AGAIN! – this is the origin of my upcycling art.
When I later learned that my pictures, which were originally intended only for me, also liked others, suddenly an incredibly great feeling of happiness filled me. My heart started dancing again. Art as a source of strength & encouragement. To share my joy, from now on I also wanted to sprinkle confetti in the hearts of others. So in 2016 I founded my own little label - MY HOOD! - although I would never have thought to own my own label at some point. So if there's one thing I've learned in recent years, it's "that it always turns out differently than you think!" And now I'm sitting here, actually writing something about the genesis of this label. For a long time I shied away from it, because the background is very personal and it still takes me overcoming to deal openly with the CFS syndrome, probably because this disease is so often misunderstood & ridiculed.

MY HEART'S DESIRE//
I hope that this story may also encourage you to stand by yourself completely, to be yourself, especially if you feel that you do not really fit into our fast-paced society, which is mainly defined by performance, performance & even more performance. Of course, this is much easier said than done. And I, too, have been struggling with depression for several years. I am all the more grateful that it was precisely during this time that I found a completely new approach to art and thus also to myself. I have found a way to create something at a "snail's pace" that gives me and my life meaning again - despite CFS. I also wish for you that you also find your way - whether with or without restrictions - be it through art, music, literature, travel... Whatever. The main thing is that it touches your heart & conjures up a smile on your face (again).
