MOMOKO. PRETTY THINGS: FROM PEACH CHILDREN AND TIME THIEVES
I studied art and my focus was on the picture: drawings, photographs – everything for the wall. At some point, the 3rd dimension appealed to me. I wanted something to touch, something that accompanies us in everyday life. My drawings were in my mind's eye on dishes, clothes and jewelry. I learned different techniques. My first series was made with drawings on chain pendants, earrings and bracelets. And then I had licked blood. I was no longer interested in finding a medium for my drawings. I wanted to make jewelry and create unique everyday objects.
I founded my designer label in 2017. The name "MOMOKO" is Japanese. Translated it means peach child or small peach blossom. Momo" (桃) stands for the peach; the syllable "ko" (子) for the child. I was already fascinated by Japanese art as a child. I looked at woodcuts of Hiroshige or Hokusai in amazement and practiced myself in origami or ink painting. When I was 16, I was so enthusiastic about my art teacher that he offered me an exchange: a watercolor of his for an ink painting of mine. That was a great honour. Because Mr. Kircheis was already an artist legend in our area during his lifetime!
What I would like to say: It was obvious to choose a Japanese name.
Today I combine the different disciplines and materials. I work with concrete, wood, resin and various metals. I create pictures, jewelry and home accessories.

I first studied art and later in-depth photography. In addition to my love for graphics and photography, my enthusiasm for jewelry design was added more by chance.
