Come mamma che coltiva la terra e istruisce i figli a casa, ho dovuto imparare a essere intraprendente con tutto quello che avevo. Ricordo anni fa quando comprai il vestito di Pasqua per le mie figlie e andai in chiesa solo per vedere altre cinque bambine indossare esattamente lo stesso vestito. Devo dire che erano tutte bellissime, tuttavia le mie bambine non si sentivano così speciali come speravano. Questo mi ha ispirato a iniziare a creare i miei modelli per i loro vestiti, creando look unici. Ricordo di aver conservato ogni pezzetto di scarto per i giorni di pioggia.
Beh, quei giorni di pioggia sono arrivati come un uragano e non potevamo più permetterci di andare al negozio di tessuti; figuriamoci ristoranti, abbonamenti e, peggio ancora, bar! CAZZO. Il mio contenitore di ritagli è presto diventato uno scrigno pieno di ispirazione e speranza. È questo che mi ha ispirato a realizzare quilt patchwork. Ci vuole una capacità speciale per trasformare ritagli, oggetti dell'usato e tessuti in saldo in una splendida opera d'arte. As a homesteading, homeschooling Mama I have had to learn to be resourceful with all that I have. I remember years ago getting my daughters Easter dress' and going to church only to see five other girls wearing the exact same dress. They all looked beautiful I must say however my girls did not feel as special as they hoped. That inspired me to start making my own patterns for their dresses creating one of a kind looks. I remember saving every bit of scraps for a rainy day.
Well those rainy days came like a hurricane and we could no longer afford to go to the fabric store; let alone restaurants, subscriptions, and even worse coffee trips! YIKES. My scrap container soon became a treasure box full of inspiration and hope. That is what inspired me to do patchwork quilts. It takes a special ability to take scraps, thrift items, and fabric on sale to turn into a beautiful piece of art. These patchwork aprons and other fun items can help all of us afford the joys of patchwork!
