Específicamente con el MacArthur Heart Brooch, con los precios continuando subiendo, se hizo cada vez más difícil recolectar baquelita. Entonces, un día pensé: debería tratar de hacer uno yo mismo, no puedo ser el único al que le gustaría tener un corazón MacArthur. Así que comencé a tallar de arcilla las piezas originales que serían la base de mi colección.

Tallo todas mis piezas desde cero y luego creo mis propios moldes de mis piezas originales. Esta es la única manera de tener una pieza verdaderamente única. Cada pieza se vierte y se funde a mano. Cada pieza se lija durante horas para obtener un acabado pulido. Luego cada uno se ensambla con mucho cuidado para darles un aspecto vintage original y auténtico. Mi primer MacArthur Heart se terminó en septiembre de 2013.

Sigo tallando nuevas piezas ampliando mi colección manteniéndome fiel a un auténtico look vintage.

Specifically with the MacArthur Heart Brooch, with prices continuing to climb it became harder and harder to collect bakelite. So, one day I thought – I should try to make one myself, I can’t be the only one that would like to have a MacArthur heart. So I started to carve from clay the original pieces that would be the foundation of my collection.

I carve all of my pieces from scratch, and then create my own molds of my original parts. This is the only way to have a truly unique piece. Each piece is poured and cast by hand. Each piece is then sanded for hours to get a polished finish. Then each is assembled with great care to give them an original and authentic vintage look. My first MacArthur Heart was finished in September 2013.

I continue to carve new parts expanding my collection keeping true to an authentic vintage look.
