In de bruisende stad Hongkong heb ik – Luna – altijd rust en plezier gevonden in handwerken. Deze passie werd aangewakkerd tijdens een intercultureel uitwisselingsprogramma, waar ik een vriend uit de Verenigde Staten en twee uit het Verenigd Koninkrijk ontmoette. We raakten meteen verbonden door onze gedeelde liefde voor design en handgemaakte kunst. In die tijd kwamen we vaak 's avonds laat in de bibliotheek bijeen om te studeren, te creëren en ideeën uit te wisselen. Ik liet hen ontwerpen zien die rijk waren aan oosterse charme, terwijl zij de elegantie en artistieke flair van de Britse stijl met zich meebrachten. We realiseerden ons dat we, ondanks onze verschillende achtergronden, allemaal dezelfde wens deelden om schoonheid in de wereld te brengen door onze eigen handen. Op een avond, terwijl we de glinsterende schelpen in het maanlicht bewonderden, werd de naam "MoonlitshellCraft" geboren. Het symboliseert het begin van onze vriendschap en onze gedeelde hoop om kunst te creëren die zo zacht is als maanlicht en zo uniek als een schelp. Tegenwoordig is ons team actief op drie continenten. Ik beheer de ontwerp- en winkelactiviteiten, terwijl mijn vrienden in de Verenigde Staten en het Verenigd Koninkrijk die ontwerpen tot leven brengen – door elk stuk zorgvuldig te vervaardigen en te verzenden. Elk handgemaakt item dat we creëren, is het resultaat van onze gezamenlijke inspanning en vertegenwoordigt een hoofdstuk van ons verhaal. We hopen dat deze creaties, gevuld met liefde en schoonheid, je leven zullen verlichten als een maanverlichte schelp.
In the bustling city of Hong Kong, I — Luna — have always found peace and joy in crafting. This passion was elevated during a cross-cultural exchange program, where I met one friend from the United States and two from the United Kingdom. We instantly bonded over our shared love for design and handmade art. During that time, we often gathered late at night in the library — studying, creating, and sharing ideas. I showed them designs rich with Eastern charm, while they brought with them the elegance and artistic flair of British style. We realized that, despite our different backgrounds, we all shared the same desire to bring beauty into the world through our own hands. One evening, as we admired the shimmering shells under the moonlight, the name “MoonlitshellCraft” was born. It symbolizes the beginning of our friendship and our shared hope to create art that is as gentle as moonlight and as unique as a shell. Today, our team spans three continents. I manage the design and shop operations, while my friends in the United States and the United Kingdom bring those designs to life — carefully crafting and shipping each piece. Every handmade item we create is the result of our collective effort and represents a chapter of our story.
