Trabajo junto a tejedoras a las que sus madres y abuelas les han enseñado las habilidades de tejido. Tejen utilizando telares de madera tradicionales e incorporan patrones tradicionales en nuestras bufandas (ferkas), envolturas, lanzamientos y alfombras.
Las ferkas son bufandas o chales tejidos a mano en el Alto Egipto que originalmente se exportaron de Egipto a Sudán y al corazón de África a través de rutas comerciales de caravanas establecidas desde hace mucho tiempo.
La asociación de técnicas de tejido tradicionales con textiles y diseños modernos nos permite producir bufandas y envolturas de alta calidad. También uso algunas telas tejidas a mano para hacer a mano algunos muebles suaves.
Todas las compras de artículos tejidos a mano ayudan a financiar una mejor educación para las mujeres y los niños en una zona rural del Alto Egipto, así como a mejorar los niveles de vida y financiar mejores beneficios sociales.

I learnt to sew as a child and enjoy designing and making soft furnishings for the home. I also have a passion for Egyptian weaving and I am pleased to be able to bring the tradition of hand woven Egyptian textiles to the UK. I will also ship worldwide from the UK.
I work alongside weavers who have been taught the skills of weaving by their mothers and grandmothers. They weave using a traditional wooden looms and incorporate traditional patterns into our scarves (ferkas), wraps, throws and rugs.
Ferkas are scarves or shawls woven by hand in Upper Egypt that were originally exported from Egypt to Sudan and the heart of Africa through long established caravan trade routes.
The partnership of traditional weaving techniques with modern textiles and designs allows us to produce high quality scarves and wraps. I also use some handwoven fabrics to hand make some soft furnishings.
All purchases of handwoven items help fund better education for women and children in a rural part of Upper Egypt, as well as helping to improve living standards and fund better social benefits.
